About Me

Hello fellow language learners! My name is Victoria and I teach English here on italki! I live in Texas and I am a college student. My favorite things to do are cooking and of course, learning languages! I hope to one day speak 10 languages fluently. I also love to travel. I have been to many places, but the longest I've ever stayed is 2 months in Busan, South Korea. Some people know it as the place that they filmed some of the popular Marvel movie, Black Panther. It was the most amazing summer of my life. I learned so much Korean, took taekwondo classes, and met amazing people. Most describe me as a kind, fun loving girl who loves adventure. Nice to meet you!

Me as a Teacher

Just as I love to learn, I love to teach! I am fortunate to have had some amazing teachers in my day, who I garner inspiration from. As a teacher, I believe that practice is the most important aspect of language learning. As everyone knows, when you practice, you make mistakes! I want my students to feel comfortable enough to make mistakes, because mistakes will ultimately be your biggest teacher.

My lessons & teaching style

Each lesson will be aimed at creating an English immersion environment. My lessons will be a safe space to make mistakes. As long as you are trying, you're learning. I want to introduce in each lesson the American usage of English. The most important thing that we will be learning cannot be taught in schools, and it is how real English speakers interact with one another. I will emphasize the use of transition words, the right sentence fillers, and pronunciation to make sure that the students are getting something they could only otherwise get if they were actually in America.
