About Me
italki teacher since Jan 29, 2019
Hi, everyone!! I'm Ayu from Oita, Japan.
I recently returned to Japan after two years living Australia and visiting many places throughout Australia.
I also like Taiwan a lot. That is the reason why I started to learn Mandarin. Every time when I meet someone, I feel like learning their languages. so that's why I have started learning Italian and Spanish as well.
I love music and in my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, singing and dancing!!
I really enjoy meeting new people. Getting to know them better always inspires me and brings me fresh ideas.
I love coffee and I'm a cat person.
I'm very friendly, easy going and passionate about teaching!!!
Me as a Teacher
I have extensive experience teaching.
I've taught English for about seven years and Japanese for a year in a group lessons, one on one and online.
I adjust lessons for each of you and your level of Japanese skills.
I use some textbooks or an original material that I make and I will send you on each lessons.
I will prepare your homework or extra worksheets if you need.
I'll lead you and encourage Japanese conversation throughout the lessons.
I want my students always be comfortable with me during my lessons so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me anything anytime.
My lessons & teaching style
I'll choose what books we use depends on what your level like and your goals on the first lesson.
You can learn new vocabularies, phrases and grammars then we learn how to speak by using what you learn on each lessons.
I give you revisions and some simple tests at first on each lessons so that we can check and remember what we've learnt or what we should practice more about.
There's always time for answering your questions so you can prepare what you want to ask me about by end of the lessons.
I'll give you some homework after the lessons. Let me know if you're too busy with your work and no time for that. It's OK we can concentrate in our lesson without homework.

Ayu Sensei is a Delight! She is funny, kind, and easy to talk with. It is easy to get lost in conversation with her and become excited to share what you've learned and experienced from week to week. She is very welcoming of questions and does a great job at helping me understand the suddle differences between my culture and those of Japan.
It is about to be 6 months now that I began studying with Ayu Sensei and I can say this has been one of the best decisions I've made this entire year!
I recommend anyone who is interested in learning Japanese to consider learning from Ayu Sensei. She is the best!

Very accessible teacher. I haven't seen this before on iTalki. Ayu has an own Youtube channel in which you can get a taste of her teaching style. She also has an Instagram profile in which she posts words and their conjugations. We've spent about my entire first lesson chatting and we decided on the correct learning style that would fit me. I've got the confidence that Ayu will teach me everything I want to know. I've already got my next lesson booked! Also; she has great availability for people (like me) in Europe. ありがとうございました。

It was a great lesson today! Pleasantly surprised to have learned so many things that weren’t on the textbook. Ayu sensei is someone who really takes into account your learning goals and feedback and I really appreciate that a lot. Looking forward to our conversation and writing lesson :)
