About Me

Hi, my name is Jacob and I am excited to help you learn English! I was born in New Orleans, but moved all over America as a kid. I am married and have beautiful twin babies (one boy and one girl!) I have lived all over America, in Australia, and in Europe. I have been to every continent except South America and Antartica and love to travel. My kids do as well! They have friends from all over the world now. My wife and I have a travel blog called thetravellinghams.com where we write about our adventures. I love learning languages and am excited to help you learn my native tongue. I also love movies and music. I can talk with you about a wide range of topics to help you grow as a learner.

Me as a Teacher

I am an Official Palfish Teacher, and have a TESOL certificate from the International Open Academy. I really enjoy helping kids learn English and I wanted to branch out and help more people. I have also helped friends with their English, both with correcting conversation and helping them write posts for their business so that it flowed better.

My lessons & teaching style

I will help you with anything you need. I am best at conversation (both general and TOEFL topics), but I can help with anything you are looking for. I have been enrolled in plenty of language courses and think one of the worst things teachers do is to talk at you and not to you. What I mean is that talk and only have you repeat them without giving you a chance to learn language more naturally through conversation. My teaching style is more more focused around discussion.

Jacob is a Really good teacher and a very good listener!! Jacob always give me chances to talk , and we talk about a lot of things range from personal interest to the travelling topics! When the conversation stop, he always try to find a way to keep the conversation going and continue to ask me a lot of question! Definitely recommend jacob to other peoples thats looking to improve their english but with a much more Chill approach!

Jacob is awesome :) He's doing a stellar job helping me with all these everyday life vocabulary questions that I constantly have in pursuit of raising my daughter in two languages. He has two adorable kids of his own, which is tremendously helpful because he's in the trenches just like me and can provide me with all these very specific kids-related words/phrases I so often need.
