About Me

Do you need to speak better English? Would you like to sound more like a native, fluent speaker? Do you need to improve your confidence speaking? I can help! My name is Jay. I am 29 years old and I'm originally from Ireland. I grew up in Dublin and lived there for 23 years. I have also spent the last five years living and working in Canada. Travel has always been important to me and I love talking with people from around the world. I've spent the last year travelling Asia, and currently I live in Bali, Indonesia. My interests include photography, reading and writing, film, computers and technology. I have worked in many different industries, and I also own a sustainability business.

Me as a Teacher

I have completed TEFL training and I have three years' experience teaching English in person. I also have two university degrees in Engineering and Mathematics, and I have taught mathematics for one year. As a teacher, I am very patient and easy going. I will make sure that you fully understand the lesson material and have fun doing it!

My lessons & teaching style

All lessons are fully customised to you. Before our first lesson, we can have a quick chat and discuss your needs. What do you need to work on most? Is it grammar? Do you want a wider vocabulary? Or would you like to improve your accent to be more fluent? I will provide lessons specific to YOUR needs. In our lesson, I will share notes for you to read. These will include: - Corrections to your speech, - New vocabulary, - Pronunciation corrections, - Grammar improvements, - New idioms and expressions etc. You can then access these notes whenever you want! Whatever your level or desired pace, I can give you the tools you need to become a fluent English speaker! Chat soon!
