About Me

CIAO a tutti! My name is Sabrina, I am a qualified native teacher. I have a certificate (CEDILS, Università' Ca'Foscari - Venezia) to teach Italian as a second or foreign language - Italian L2/LS. I am graduated with honors in Philosophy and I started teaching Italian language and culture in Toronto, Canada. I am a student of a Master's degree in Linguistics, with a specialization in Italian l2/lS. I also did a traineeship in a school for foreigners in Genoa, Italy, where I am now teaching. I am the co-founder of a Podcast for Italian learners.

Me as a Teacher

Finding myself in a foreign country, I learned that the best way to improve a language is TALKING, without any fear. I follow a communicative, student-centered approach. To me, it's really important that you feel comfortable and free to express yourself in Italian, no matter which is your level. Your needs and interests are the focus on which I will tailor the lessons. If you have studied italian before, I will send you a test before our first lesson to assess your level and tailor lessons on what you need most.

My lessons & teaching style

We will plan the lesson together to achieve your goals. STRUCTURED lessons are based on some materials I will provide you, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar. In CONVERSATION lessons, the aim is to talk about different topics, improving your speaking skills in an easy and relaxed environment. So, if you'd like me to help you improve your Italian, please contact me and we can book a trial lesson together.
