About Me

Hello! My name is Jessica! Nice to meet you. :) I am from a from a town right outside New York City, but am currently living in Mexico! English is my native language, but I also speak Spanish. Born to Cuban-Italian parents, I love to dance and to eat! I have a Masters degree in Theater and run a food blog in Mexico! I am also a certified Nutritional Coach, and I love to exercise, travel, bake, and play with dogs!

Me as a Teacher

I LOVE to get to know people and make new friends! I am very easy to talk to; I would consider myself extroverted and friendly. I love for the conversation to flow, but I am also grammar and spelling fanatic, so you will definitely get a well-rounded English experience in my class! I have taught ESL classes to adults and children for over 7 years and have various certifications, including the TEFL and TESOL!

My lessons & teaching style

I love to teach all levels of English, from beginner to advanced conversation! I learned Spanish over the past 8 years while living in Mexico, so I understand the difficulties of becoming fluent in another language. I believe that it’s important to feel comfortable to make mistakes, feel that you’re in a judgement-free environment, and have the motivation to speak! We will talk and learn about the topics you’re interested in, in a friendly setting. Want a challenge? We can do that! I know exactly how to take you out of your comfort zone on your language learning journey. Not ready for that challenge? Don’t worry, we will stay exactly where you’re comfortable! My goal is your success!
