About Me

My name is Francesca, I live in Italy, near Venice, and although I'm passionate about my country's culture, I also love foreign languages. I love traveling and getting to know more about other cultures. I'm very curious and I am myself a learner (I've been studying languages for years), so I know how it feels like. I have a BA in foreign languages, literature and translation and I'm currently studying for an MA in the same field. I love reading, watching films and tv series, hiking, art, folklore, board games, cooking and above all traveling. I'm open-minded, opinionated and easy going, I love to communicate with people of other cultures and nationalities and to help them learn Italian!

Me as a Teacher

I'm a big fan of the Italian language (and culture) and I love to help people learn it. I know it can be tough but with patience and motivation it can be fun. From my personal experience as a learner, I've come to realize that the best way to learn and practice a language is using it for everyday matters, especially to talk about one's passions and hobbies. Talking about the things we like is a positive, stimulating way of practicing; learning becomes quicker, more natural and less tiring. I want my students to feel free to express themselves without being judged, so don't be afraid to speak and make mistakes with me: mistakes are an excellent way to learn!

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons can be customized according to the learner's needs, goals and commitment (especially commitment). A class could be just a chill talk or a grammar/vocabulary-based lesson; it can also include written homework, reading or multimedia resources such as videos, songs, podcasts or articles. We can talk about general topics or specific fields of interest. It's really up to the learner! I've recently taken an in-depth diction course, so during classes I limit my accent and try to speak the purest Italian possible. I would like my students to learn THE proper pronunciation! * I'm currently NOT accepting absolute beginners. Students are required to have at least an A1 level of Italian.
