About Me
italki teacher since May 13, 2020
Hello everyone! My name is Ai. I was born and raised in Japan and moved to San Diego California in 2015. In Japan, I worked at a language school in Tokyo teaching Japanese to the students from around the world. I like learning about new cultures, traveling, and interacting with locals.
After I moved to the United States I became a tour guide to show Japanese tourists my beautiful second home. I love both teaching Japanese and being a tour guide! The things I really enjoy are traveling, watching movies/TV shows and talking to people! I hope meet you soon!

My lessons & teaching style
One of the keys to improve your speaking level is having fun and talk about something you like and you are interested in. And keep studying/talking!
Now I have a conversation lesson for you to practice speaking Japanese with me! I know how hard it is a learning language, because I have been there. During the lesson just relax and try to speak with the language what you have learned before, then after the conversation I will correct your grammar and teach you useful and new vocabulary or idioms.
1, IF you have specific topic you would like to talk about with me please message me beforehand.
2, If you don’t have one I have prepared many topics for us to discuss OR we can just talk talk talk

I got all the information I needed. Ai helped me feel more confident in my Japanese and she had a lesson prepared on the topic I wanted to practice. It was good practice for me.

Ai-san is very personable, encouraging, and energetic, and it was very easy to have a conversation with her on a variety of topics from the get-go. When it takes a bit longer to find the right expression, she's very good at finding the right balance between waiting and stepping in. I look forward to our future lessons. Highly recommended!

It was an absolute pleasure talking to Ai. I liked how she was able to talk easily while teaching and telling me about new words and phrases. And I did not feel stressed at all talking in Japanese. I will definitely sign up for further lessons and highly recommend her. Thanks Ai!
