About Me

Thanks for clicking on my profile! I'm an English teacher and eternal expat! I've lived in Ireland, Australia, France, Spain and Germany (in that order!) and had to learn a new language 3 times. I know how it feels to be the new person, the one who doesn't understand the joke or who doesn't always know the perfect word or phrase for each situation. Still, I find it exciting to live in new countries with different cultures and love talking about experiences from real life.

Me as a Teacher

I believe every student should learn something new they can use during each lesson, not just practise English. I also understand how difficult it is to learn a language when you don't have any time to study or attend classes and I love helping people to understand and use everyday English. I'm a patient teacher and use a variety of strategies, which I have learnt through my study and experience. I have 3 teaching qualifications (a Delta from Cambridge English, a certificate in TESOL and a degree in Primary Education) and 10 years' experience teaching both in classrooms and online.

My lessons & teaching style

With my Expat lessons I offer students an opportunity to improve their English with me not only during our lesson but after it. Each lesson includes two follow-up tasks (audio or written) that you can do when you have time during the week, so you can stay connected with what you are learning and improve your language skills and confidence more quickly.
