As always, Alyona continues to be prepared, thoughtful, reactive and supportive. She is the ideal tutor for a student who is managing learning a new language with the realities/time pressures of life. She creates an environment that motivates her students to learn, providing that needed "push" while also making the content covered relevant to everyday life. A truly elite educator!

Alyona is friendly, polite, pleasant, clear, humble and humorous. She provided an introduction on the structure and her approach to teaching Russian to ensure that I was comfortable with the direction, but also made clear that she was willing to make adjustments based on my desires. I appreciated how she first started with an introduction and expectations to make sure we were on the same page. She sought to understand my personal goals, and took interest into why I decided to learn the language. In the trial lesson, she did not give me the impression that she was forcing me to continue with more lessons, but encouraged me to consider before making a decision. At the forefront, she expressed that learning Russian is difficult, not to discourage but to give me an awareness of what to expect. She is humble, and expressed that she is not saddened by criticism, but welcomes feedback from students, which made me feel that I could be honest with her without the fear of being offensive. You can tell that she seeks to make the process of learning Russian enjoyable. She is patient, understanding and non-judgmental - which made me feel comfortable to make mistakes. She is a good teacher: organized, explains clearly, and desires to see progress in her students. If you are seeking to learn Russian I recommend Alyona as a teacher.

Best teacher I've had!! She understands my goals of language learning and is always more than willing to make any necessary changes. She'll give me homework assignments to match these goals and supports them with audio files. Her teaching method and lessons make it very easy to improve. Most importantly! Alyona makes learning fun. I look forward to our lessons every week.
