I really enjoy a balanced study of both written and oral language as well as a chance to practice both reading and writing with my students. I believe that consistent practice and pursuit of reasonable goals is crucial to learning a language. It took me eight years to learn Japanese fluently and for me that was still the beginning of my language journey.

In a typical lesson, I will evaluate your level with a simple conversation and written chat. From there I will gather your preferences for how you want the learning experience to be, conversation based, or with accompanying material. I encourage my students to learn at their own pace, and compliment their growth in English or Japanese with fundamentals of Eastern or Western culture.

Houston was great! The lesson was very productive. It exceeded my expectations. I found it very, very helpful in preparing for my upcoming trip. I learned a lot of new and very useful phrases, as well as some of the etiquette behind them. Thank you!
