About Me
italki teacher since Jul 8, 2016
I love to talk about culture and its differences in various countries which I encounter during classes and with friends. I may not show it, but I love jogging and cycling :D. I was born in Riyadh-Saudi Arabia and I lived there for eight years then moved back to Cairo.
Me as a Teacher
I love teaching because I can be who I am when I do it. I have been teaching Arabic to non-native speakers for 7 years now. I worked with students from different nationalities with wide variety of cultures that made me understand people from different parts of the world better. I can help you with your college exam, improve your conversation skills, read, write, prepare you for a job interview, learn for personal needs and even reciting Qur`an. I have taught students with different ages, from 5 years old - over 60 years old students.
I have a B.A degree and two Diploma degrees from Cairo University in Arabic language and teaching it to non-native speakers.
My lessons & teaching style
Teaching is adapting your tools and materials according to students` needs. I use several books to teach both Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian dialects. I also use articles from news websites in case you`re interested in what`s new in the world in Arabic language, also I use social media to understand Egyptian dialect and how people are actually interacting in the meantime.
I can speak about Political and social topics and I can teach books to teenagers and children and I use specific curriculum for that.
learning pace depends on the material we are using and most importantly, student motive. usually the pace is provided with the material we are using but it also relies on student.

I am very appreciative for Aasem teaching me correct grammar and pronunciation usage. I have been speaking Arabic for awhile now with lots of mistakes and I want to speak correctly. Also Aasem give me homework, which in my case is good. I am a procrastinator by nature, but giving me homework and the deadline to do it before the next class gives me motivation to spend more time working on my Arabic, in a more focused manner, than I would otherwise.

1.)On time, excellent communication and internet connection.
2.)Our first lesson but somehow, he was able to speak at exactly my level. That is what I call an experienced teacher!
3.)Patient: explains one word in many contexts in ARABIC only-this is one of the big pluses.
4.)Encouraging, Energetic, and Flexible: I usually don't come to lessons prepared and heavily rely on the teacher to plan the lesson or conversation so he is good if you need direction.
*Thank you, Italki for asking me to review!*

Aasem is the best teacher ever, he takes time and cares about your progress. I am preparing an exam and Aasem wanted to know exactly how the exam is going to be and prepared a fake exam for me to make me do some exercise. He is patient. He explained and repeated with me over and over again until I assimilated the concept. When I contacted Aasem the first time I wasn't enjoying studying Arabic as much I should have. Aasem, day after day made me fall in love again with this amazing language. We talk a lot about our culture and the things that we like. He implements grammar into the conversation when he sees that a mistake is repeated over and over. Thanks a lot for all your efforts :)
