While I've been trained in more formal approaches to language teaching, I believe firmly in the power of communication and the learning opportunities it affords. This means that I like to place focus on structured grammatical learning for beginners, but to reinforce it with immersive communication. As a teacher, I'm fun and relaxed, and love speaking to people all over the world. I'll correct what's relevant and what you want to correct, but won't stop you every two seconds - instead, I'll compile a list of notable errors, and go through them with you. Mostly, you'll correct yourself! My lessons & teaching style
In both community and professional lessons, I place focus on communication precisely because it's what's often lacking in so many students' more formal lessons.
During professional lessons I share my screen, and provide you with a copy of the vocabulary and grammar we have covered in a Word document. I also have access to a wide range of textbooks that we can use (IETLS, Business English, grammar books). When you first come to have lessons with me, we'll spend the first 20 or so of each lesson going through some diagnostic materials so I know what to work on. I am happy to set both homework and quizzes!

I love writing poems, and Miss Melissa asked me to do that! We-correction, I-wrote the poem and Miss Melissa praised me sky-high for that. She also told me some tips about poem analyzing: Don't just find the examples from the poem!
