About Me

Hi, I'm Laura, I teach French on italki! I'm a native speaker with a standard French accent. I live in Paris where I was born and also grew up. I would rather eat sweet foods over salty, and you? :) I have worked in marketing for 3 years in french companies. Before that, I got a bachelor in Humanity and a Master degree in management from a business school. Currently, I'm studying English and Chinese at university. I am also preparing a certification in teaching French as a Foreign Language.

Me as a Teacher

As a tutor at italki, I would say that I am attentive to your needs in French and I am eager to adapt myself along your learning path. I like trying to be creative when explaining things. Also, I like sharing with you insights of the French culture and its lifestyle.

My lessons & teaching style

All levels are welcome. We will study different contents and teaching materials such as original texts, videos, role-play, film extracts and news articles... Feel free to let me know any subject you are passionate about, it will add to the fun ;-) About my way of teaching, I am interested in link between learning language and personal development. As a learner of English and Chinese, I totally understand the challenges and the excitement. But, because everyone is different, I invite you to share with me your French journey (learning preferences, objectives, struggle points...). This way, I would be able to give you appropriate suggestions and customized lessons.

Laura is great! I haven't really used my French for a while so I was nervous that I lost a lot of my skill, and I also I just don't consider myself to be a very good conversationalist, but she's really good at leading and it ended up just being a really fun conversation. Throughout she naturally corrected my mistakes in a way that was comfortable and she sent me vocab that I didn't know. She's a wonderful teacher!
