About Me
italki teacher since Feb 24, 2017
I am a Software Test Engineer from Cleveland, OH.
I enjoy learning languages in my spare time. I am currently learning Korean, Arabic and Spanish. In the past I have studied German and Danish as well.
Me as a Teacher
I am very patient and prepared. I am more than willing to help students at any stage of their journey to learning English. I like to use articles, poetry and deep questions to get my students talking.
I will soon be offering essay correction for other tutors and students on Italki.
I will not teach you slang or swear words. I also do not engage students in any conversations that are defamatory to any groups (religious, racial or otherwise).
My lessons & teaching style
I use many different topics from poetry to life experiences to get students thinking in English. I am large proponent of writing in your target language. Writing is typically done in a solitary setting which allows us time to gather our thoughts, write a draft and edit. It builds confidence that can be transferred to speaking related skill building.

Great session again! I love the way Nickie keeps the discussion going by talking about so many interesting topics. It creates an atmosphere in which I learn easily and remember more clearly the corrections she makes. Thanks a ton :)

I thank you for the interesting lesson (I'm sure, from today I'll use the word "fine" with more attention), I truly appreciate all exercises you suggest me and step by step, thanks your teaching, I feel myself a bit more confident in english. (I know.. I've a lot of work to do but I never give-up).

Nice lesson with Nickie, i'm so happy to share Nickie my happy thing and unhappy thing for this week. She is patient and considerate to listen what i'm saying. We also did Synonym Exercise which helps me learn some vocabularies in oral English. So sad Nickie would be on vacation next month, i would miss you very much !! Anyway, i wish you have the time to focus and the thing that you really want to achieve and make progress. I will also try hard on my English study.
