About Me

I have over six years' experience teaching languages to children, teenagers, and adults of different backgrounds and nationalities. I have taught English and Italian in Italy, Australia, Germany, Macedonia, England, Slovakia and Spain on a one-to-one basis as well as in a group setting. I took my CELTA Certificate (Pass B) in 2016 at IH Milan. In 2018 I also completed the IH CYLT course that helped me develop my skills in teaching young leaners.
I have been teaching on ITALKI since 2014 and it is the best job I have ever had. I have been teaching some of my students online since the very beginning. I have also met some of them in person, either in their own countries or in Italy. My lessons & teaching style
I am a patient and friendly teacher.
Working and living abroad has allowed me to develop a special awareness toward other cultures. It has also helped me better understand the difficulties learners have when learning a foreign language. I am a student of languages myself: apart from English, I studied Russian, Macedonian, and Spanish.
I have a flexible and creative teaching style that caters for my students' needs. I can prepare personalised materials on any topic. My lessons are based on the communicative method and I use different resources to make them more fun, interesting, and meaningful to my students. I give optional homework regularly, which I'm happy to correct.My teaching material

Ho conosciuto Francesca dopo aver fatto diverse lezioni con altri insegnanti e posso dirVi che è veramente un'ottima insegnante. Le lezioni sono sempre interessanti, utili e leggere inoltre avrete la possibilità di imparare in un clima di tranquillità senza sentirvi in imbarazzo per i vostri errori. Personalmente apprezzo molto il fatto che le lezioni siano sempre ben organizzate e che ci sia un programma dietro tutte le lezioni.

I have really been enjoying the "book club" that Francesca created. We are reading a recent work of Italian literature ("Sofia si veste sempre di nero" by Paolo Cognetti, from 2017 - I don't believe there is an English edition) and building lessons around it. It's slow going - I bought it in November and 4 months later I've just reached the 40% mark - but it pushes my vocabulary and reading comprehension.
