About Me

italki teacher since May 20, 2014

I'm from Venezuela and I started teaching Spanish on Italki on 2014. During that year I worked online full time but since 2015 I started backpacking while teaching Spanish when I could. Right now I'm back in Venezuela because we want to start a social project, so I'll be teaching again on Italki full time and at the same time working in our projects in Venezuela. My first experience teaching Spanish was as a volunteer in an Ngo that needed also a teacher to teach Spanish to the other volunteers. After that I have taught in language institutions but mostly online.

Me as a Teacher

I focus on helping my students developing their fluency and I'm specialized in teaching beginners. With intermediate and advance students I focus on helping them improve their fluency through conversations about different topics. During the classes the topics that we chose the most are those that help the students improve specific vocabulary or specific grammar points that the students need to improve. I use different presentations and activities to have a structure during the classes but I focus on making the student speak a lot.

My lessons & teaching style

I can teach students who know absolutely nothing about the language they want to learn (Spanish or English) thanks to the use of presentations I have made based on different books and thanks to a teaching method I learned while teaching in a language institute in Venezuela. In addition to teaching beginners I also have a lot of experience teaching Spanish to intermediate or advanced students. With these students I focus on helping them improve their fluency and if they have any weakness in a grammar point we work on it through conversations, reading activities or audios where an emphasis is given to the grammar point that the student needs to improve.
