About Me

My name is Silvia, I am Italian and since 2010 I live and work as an Italian teacher in Madrid. I graduated in International Communication at the University of Palermo and then I got a specialization in Modern Languages for International Communication at the Guglielmo Marconi University in Rome. I decided to dedicate myself to teaching and, therefore, I also obtained the DITALS certification (Diploma for the teaching of Italian as a foreign language), issued by the University for Foreigners of Siena. I currently work as an Italian teacher, giving face-to-face and online classes to private students and in international companies.

Me as a Teacher

For me, teaching Italian is a passion more than a job! I am deeply convinced that learning a language also means knowing and getting closer to a new culture, so I love teaching my students linguistic and cultural habits and curiosities about my country. Therefore, through the study of the language, I also try to provide knowledge about Italy and the Italian way of life.

My lessons & teaching style

My teaching method is focused on practice. I always try to adapt the content to the tastes and demands of each student. I use differentiated teaching materials: text books, videos, audio and newspapers. My attempt is to provide them with useful and effective tools to truly learn Italian, using everyday vocabulary, phrases and sayings and explaining the origin of certain Italian expressions or customs.

The lesson with Silvia was great. She has the spirit a teacher and her performance and ability to explain the intricacies of the otalian language is just what i expected. she corrects me, writes and documents her comments and the corrections for my mistakes, and she never stops smiling which is great!
