In order to make my classes fun and interactive, I always ask my student for his likes or topics of interest and teach my class based on that. It is a really good icebreaker and a way to learn feeling comfortable.

I moved from Venezuela to Ecuador 2 years ago, and I've been working as an English teacher since then. I've been acquiring a lot of experience and technical teaching knowledge which I apply when teaching. I have worked in three different language institutes in Ecuador teaching English and Spanish in which I had to learn different types of teaching methods and also work with a wide rank of ages. I've taught students from 5 to 65 years old.

Gracias a mis propias experiencias he comprendido que hay muchas formas de aprender un nuevo idioma. Puede ser desde pequeño en la escuela, o ya en edad adulta de manera autodidacta. Me gusta centrarme sobre todo en la expresión y la comprensión oral. Podemos tener conversaciones sobre viajes, comida, historia, deporte, trabajo y todo lo que se te ocurra. Soy una persona muy curiosa a la que le gusta enseñar y aprender de los demás.

I really think pronunciation is very important, since we almost always communicate verbally, and that's how we make first impressions. My classes are very dynamic, I do not like to focus on grammar but rather on fluency and improving conversational skills. I believe having conversations on various different subjects is the best way to learn and practice a new language. I think it’s important to create a friendly environment that’s why as a community tutor, I want the students to know we can speak about so many different things, it can be their hobbies, their interests or something they just read on the news. A class is so much enjoyable when we talk about things we are passionate about, and I’m sure learning will be more effective in an interactive, stress-free class.
