Studied language and education in university: majored in language and education, and studied further about language teaching for three years to get a government-issued teacher certificate (succeeded in getting the certificate in 2011). 2. Started my teaching career in high school: for four years, I taught high school students (aged 16-18) in Gyeonggi province, Korea. Back then, I was a quite young and passionate teacher. 3. As Korean teacher in Hong Kong: with great chances, I happened to meet various students who want to learn Korean for various reasons. From teaching Korean alphabet to discussing economic issues in Korean, I taught lots of students with various Korean levels.

A Korean who grew up and lived in Korean speaks the Korean language well. Even if a Korean speaks the Korean language well, all of them are not good at teaching the language. The reason is that, speaking the language and teaching it is different. So, I think the teaching skill is very important for teachers. The reasons I will teach well is... 1) I am teaching my kids, Korean school, and Sejong Hakdang for many years. While I was teaching for many years, I learned how to teach a second language as Korean and English. 2) A good thing about me is I am good at teaching and I love my student. 3) I also know how it feels to learn a new language because I learned a second language English.

I have been tutoring Korean since when I studied at university. I had many opportunities to meet foreign students and to teach them Korean. Also, I have taught Korean to Russian employees at Korean companies. I know about the struggles of learning new languages, I have been through that process. The biggest thing I realized during tutoring and learning new languages is that the alphabet, basic grammar, writing and reading are all important, but the most important thing is to enjoy learning with confidence.

I am a professional Korean teacher. Now I live in Jeonju in Korea. I have been teaching on italki since 2017, but I first started in 2011. I was in an exchange program in Tanzania in the university and I helped some children speak Korean at Hangeul school. It was a new experience for me and I had a really good time with them. After that, when I traveled to Southeast Asia, I met some foreigners who were interested in Korean culture especially K-pop and K-dramas. I found out people feel happy to have a conversation in a foreign language with a native speaker. Those experiences made me think teaching Korean might be one of the wonderful things I can do. That’s why I got a certificate.

I am a certified professional teacher. I met and taught a lot of people since I have started teaching on italki. I know what kind of difficulties people from different countries have when they learn Korean. Especially in terms of pronunciation and intonation. I think pronunciation is one of the most important yet difficult parts. As I love singing I’m interested in pronunciation and vocalisation. I am very patient. During my lesson never be afraid of making mistakes. I can’t speak English well but it won’t be a problem with our communication. After studying Korean Language and Literature at university, I had experience teaching languages for several years in both Korea and Japan. I have also studied Japanese for many years and have spent 18 months living in Tokyo, so I can read, speak, and teach Japanese at an advanced level. During my time in Tokyo I made fun and engaging lessons to teach Korean to school children. 한국에 있는 인하대학교에서 4년간 한국어문학을 전공하면서 동시에 일본어와 영어를 공부했구요, 일본 도쿄에서 교환학생으로 일본문학을 공부하기도 하면서 일본어도 재밌게 배울 수 있었어요. 2019년에는 도쿄에서 학생들에게 한국어를 가르치는 수업도 진행하면서 강사로서의 경력도 쌓아갈 수 있었답니다.
