I am a resourceful and motivated ESL and Portuguese teacher with three years’ teaching experience with young learners (children and teenagers) as well as adults. I am CELTA qualified and I have lived and taught during one year in China, so I feel confident and experienced working with learners who do not share the same mother tongue as I do. I have also volunteered with WWOOF in Europe, so I have lived in France, UK, Croatia and Greece, which helped me understand my passion for languages and different cultures. I believe my biggest qualities as a teacher are empathy and eloquence, which allows me to establish strong rapport with my students as well as deliver effective lessons.

As a techer I may say that being a language student too has made me feel like putting myself in students' shoes too. So in short I know how it feels like not knowing a thing about it. As a language learner myself (I'm learning Dutch at the moment), I realized that my skills can improve much faster when I talk to my teacher about my expectations. It helps me get the most of my lessons, and I encourage you to do the same. I have a program for learners of Portuguese as a second language (Survival Portuguese) and as a foreign language (General Portuguese). If you prefer not following any program, we can work on texts of your choice or focus purely on conversation.

As I have a huge experience in learning languages (since I was a little kid, actually), I know how to find the best way of learning Portuguese. I am a very patient and friendly teacher. I will correct your mistakes immediately if they compromise our communication. And since I'm just a native speaker, we can talk about everything in the world!

I have a degree in English and Translation Studies from UFRGS, in Brazil, and I have been teaching English and Portuguese for the past seven years, in both schools and to private students. My students have ages that go from little infants in their oralization process up to adults, with several different levels of language knowledge and goals. Eu sou formada em Inglês e Tradução pela UFRGS, e venho dando aulas há mais de sete anos, em escolas e para alunos particulares. Meus alunos tem idades que variam desde bebês no processo de oralização em pré-escolas, até adultos, com diversos níveis de conhecimento prévio e objetivos.

I have a Languages degree (Portuguese and French) from the UFPE and I did a postgraduate course in Applied Linguistics to Portuguese Language Teaching in the FAFIRE. I also had the opportunity to study Didactics for Languages for six months in the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, in Paris. Since 2011, I work as a teacher of Portuguese (as first and foreign language) and French and I’ve had experiences in schools, language courses, online lessons… So I have a large experience teaching both of them and I had the opportunity to teach students with different levels, profiles and goals. My lessons are dynamic, fun and prepared according to the student's objective and interests.

Over a period of 7 years, I have lived in Guatemala, Honduras and Brazil and interacted daily with the people in their native tongues of either Spanish or Portuguese. I have also gone into 9 other Latin American countries and worked with the people. For many years, I have served as an interpreter between the three languages. I read and write in Spanish and Portuguese with great ease. My goal is to get you quickly speaking in your new language, Practice is most important in achieving foreign language fluency. I am a professional who always thinks about the priorities of students, is accessible and sympathetic to everyone.

Languages are my true passion and they make my life move. That is why I decided to be a translator and later became a teacher. Being able to connect different people and their culture is something really special for me. My motivation to be in class every day is the opportunity of showing my students the richness and diversity of Brazilian culture as well as guiding them in the discovery of new words, sounds, tastes, and perspectives.
