I've been a community tutor here in Italki for a good time and I like it because it gives me the opportunity to get to know different people and learn a lot with them. I like to teach clearly and easily. I prepare my lessons taking in consideration the student's prior knowledge and how can I help him to learn without being frustrating. I have a degree in English and Translation Studies from UFRGS, in Brazil, and I have been teaching English and Portuguese for the past seven years, in both schools and to private students. My students have ages that go from little infants in their oralization process up to adults, with several different levels of language knowledge and goals. I am a resourceful and motivated ESL and Portuguese teacher with three years’ teaching experience with young learners (children and teenagers) as well as adults. I am CELTA qualified and I have lived and taught during one year in China, so I feel confident and experienced working with learners who do not share the same mother tongue as I do. I have also volunteered with WWOOF in Europe, so I have lived in France, UK, Croatia and Greece, which helped me understand my passion for languages and different cultures.
