After studying Korean Language and Literature at university, I had experience teaching languages for several years in both Korea and Japan. I have also studied Japanese for many years and have spent 18 months living in Tokyo, so I can read, speak, and teach Japanese at an advanced level. During my time in Tokyo I made fun and engaging lessons to teach Korean to school children. 한국에 있는 인하대학교에서 4년간 한국어문학을 전공하면서 동시에 일본어와 영어를 공부했구요, 일본 도쿄에서 교환학생으로 일본문학을 공부하기도 하면서 일본어도 재밌게 배울 수 있었어요. 2019년에는 도쿄에서 학생들에게 한국어를 가르치는 수업도 진행하면서 강사로서의 경력도 쌓아갈 수 있었답니다.

Whenever I have free time, I prepare meaningful lessons for my students. I've been reading books about Korean as a Foreign Language. I try to put myself in my student's shoes. So if you are a beginner, now is the best time to take my lessons as I'm better prepared to explain grammar topics in an easy to understand manner! I really like to teach foreigners. Whenever I meet and teach my students on italki, and see that their Korean language skill has improved through my lessons, I am very happy. For me, teaching is a very rewarding job. My majors are English Language and Korean as a foreign language. I was fascinated to teach what I know while I was an English teacher in Korea for four years and I learned how to pour love to my students by spending quality time. Moreover, teaching Korean at the university in the USA made me feel more proud of what I am doing as a native speaker. Through years of teaching Korean, I have learned fun and interactive classes is one of the most important aspects of learning, since things are more easily remembered in a fun learning environment. I also believe that using words and phrases that students have learned recently helps significantly in integrating those words into their repertoire. I am very proud of my students, most of whom have shown a lot of progress in this area. One of the main goals in learning a language is to speak it, which is why I also put a lot of effort into encouraging sentence construction and speaking.

I have 5 years of teaching on Italki and extra 2 years of teaching experience outside this platform. Hence I have plentiful of teaching experience for those who are both beginner and advance level students. I like to have casual, FUN lessons through conversations in Korean and learning new vocabulary/grammar, etc. My lessons are based on what students need or want. (For those who prepare for Korean efficiency test i.e. Topik) I am not a strict teacher.
