As a teacher, I think that the most important thing when you are learning a foreign language is to feel comfortable and confident. Comfortable because you can learn in good conditions and get help whenever you need. Confident because you can feel that you make progress by practicing and that you are not afraid to do mistake. I always do my best to make my students feel comfortable and confident in the class. I have taught students from different countries so I can understand and help you easily when you encounter difficulties. I have been teaching Korean since I started to travel alone. I taught Korean at church in Japan and the US. They range in age from 7-year-olds to 70-year-olds. Some people couldn't speak Korean at all, but they developed a lot through our (me and other Korean students) class. And I know how hard learning a new language is. I am so patient! Please don't be afraid to make mistakes!!

Since I became a Korean teacher, I'd like to give wider publicity to forenigners. My native language is Korean and I have a lot of experience teaching the Korean language not only in Korea but also overseas. I've also been studying some foreign languages so far. So I know how to study and teach language, I'm confident teaching Korean to high a standard.

My real passion is to teach languages and when see the results in my students that is the most exciting thing for me. I completed a 120-hour teacher training program of Korean language for foreigners. And I started teaching Korean online since 2019. Students who learn Korean inspire me a lot. I really enjoy helping them with their Korean and achieving their goals. I think it is very important for students to speak Korean as much as possible during classes. I majored in English and Japanese in university. I have taught Korean to my friends which is why I started getting interesting in teaching Korean. I used to correct their Korean writing such as essays and also helped their conversational skills not only informal way but also a formal way in different generations' way to talk.

I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. I am now working as an educational researcher, but still occasionally teaching students on academic skills. I am also a CELTA qualified teacher with a Master’s in TESOL and PhD in Education.

My majors are English Language and Korean as a foreign language. I was fascinated to teach what I know while I was an English teacher in Korea for four years and I learned how to pour love to my students by spending quality time. Moreover, teaching Korean at the university in the USA made me feel more proud of what I am doing as a native speaker. Currently, on-line classes are offered on weekdays after work and on weekends. And at a Korean language study group in front of Hongik University, on the weekend, I did 1:1 class service for Japanese students for about 2 years.

I love to study to be a better teacher and currently I am studying at the graduate school of education, majoring in 'teaching Korean as a second language'. As a language learner myself I understand how scary and confusing it can be. To be fluent and confident you need lots of practice. I am currently taking a program to become a government certified teacher. I have experience of teaching children in USA for about 2 years and I really enjoyed it. I like to motivate my students, mostly let my student solve the problems and challenges alone because I believe in that way students can practice more with the grammar, but I am happy to help my students if they find it too challenging.
