I have master’s degree of Japanese language education. In my master’s course, I studied how to motivate learners in learning a foreign language, so I have passion to motivate my students. I also study Chinese and English by myself so I really understand how difficult it is to keep studying a language but I also know that there is happiness and joy in learning a language. I will support you to reach your goals by learning Japanese in a relaxed and enjoyable way because seeing my students smile and improve their Japanese skills is my greatest source of joy when teaching!

420時間日本語教師養成講座を修了し、その後シドニーで2年ほど多国籍の学習者さんと一緒に日本語を勉強しました。その後帰国し、現在は技能実習生に1年半くらい教えています。毎日、対面式とZOOMの2種類の方法で教えていますので、italkiでは、ZOOMの知識を活かせればと思います。今まで教えた学習者さんは、初級と中級者さんでした。メインは直接法でしますが、必要があれば英語も使って教えます。 今までの経験から得た心持ちや指導法を発揮して、学習者さんのニーズに応えられるような講師になることが目標です。 After completing a 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course, I had been teaching to multinational learners in Sydney for about two years. After that, I returned to Japan and have been teaching technical intern trainees for about a year and a half. I teach in two ways, face-to-face and ZOOM every day, so at italki, I hope to make use of my knowledge of ZOOM. The learners I have taught so far have been beginners and intermediates.

When I was young and attending a language school in Australia, I aspired to become a Japanese teacher. I was a Japanese teacher at a Japanese language school in China. Now I am an online Japanese teacher.

My classes are usually conversation-based and customised to my students' language needs, whether it be grammar, idioms, vocabulary, or pronunciation. I am fun, easygoing and I love talking with my students about ANYTHING!! haha I can go at your pace if its fast or slow. I've been learning English since I was a kid so I understand how difficult learning other languages can be. One of the things I like about teaching is seeing my students understand something that they previously found difficult. Seeing they joy they get from finally understanding the thing that was stumping them, really makes me happy :D

Until 2 years ago I was working as a researcher at Energy Economics Institute. At the time I taught myself Chinese and Spanish. One of my friend asked me if I can teach Korean to English speakers at his cafe. Because it sounded a lot of fun, so I decided to do it as a volunteer job. It turned out, without doubt, full of fun and rewarding to teach them. Once I decided to do it right, I studied Korean. I'm good at explaining stuff easily. That's why I have a strength of teaching Japanese as well. I wouldn't say learning foreign language as 'studying'. So you shouldn't think Korean and Japanese are difficult. Please feel free to jump into the new adventure. I love teaching an absolute beginner.

Although I have never formally trained in teaching language, I have voluntarily taught Japanese for many years. I’ve attended to language exchange lessons in Toronto and New York and taught Japanese to people from all over the world (e.g. American, Canadian, Russian, Polish, German, Chinese, Korean, Indian etc.) from very beginners to fluent people. I made close friends who learn Japanese and we always asked and taught each other when I was studying English. One of my best friends is an American and he still asks me about the Japanese language even after he moved to Japan.

I have never worked as a Japanese teacher, but I have so many language partner, that I get used to explain not only phrases which we native speakers use, but also grammatical stuff and nuanced differences of fixed expressions in easy Japanese, English or German. I also can teach you with grammatical explanation with linguistical terms if you want, cuz my minor is computer linguistic. From April I'll move to japan for a half year so that my schedule is not fixed.

Since I am studying English, I really understand the feelings of people studying foreign languages. It's easy to forget the language when you stop studying it, but don't give up and continue.
