Being a language learner myself, I know what are the problems that students are facing and what are the most common mistakes. I try to approach language learning in a fun way, it is important to keep motivated! It's also important to understand that if you want to learn a language you need to commit to practicing it almost on a daily basis. This doesn't mean you have to spend hours studying! you can spend just a few minutes per day just reading an article, or listening to a song or a podcast! Grammar is important, but for me, what is more important is to be able to understand the language and to communicate!

I started teaching Italian as a foreign language in 2003, and I've been teaching online for about three years. I have a University Degree in Translation and a Ditals Certification. I love teaching and I truly enjoy helping my students.

I think the most important part of teaching is human contact. I like to put my students in a comfortable and trusting environment. Also, it is essential that you talk: the more you speak, the more mistakes I can find and the more new expressions and pronunciation tips can be taught. I'm patient and friendly: the primary and most important reason to take this type of class is to find an opportunity to practice. Therefore, you need someone who is understanding, who you won’t feel embarrassed to talk with, especially if you are a beginner.

I am a qualified English teacher but I have now specialised in teaching Italian as a second language and after two years working in two different private schools (teaching English and Spanish) I have started teaching Italian in an Italian institute in Istanbul. My current job involves not only teaching general Italian but also preparing students who want to take one of the Italian official certifications such as CILS, CELI etc.

I love teaching because I've always found lovable students who have a lot to share with me in terms of interests and experiences, and it's amazing to give them the possibility to express themselves. I am expert in intermediate levels, so I can help students who are maybe strong at grammar competence or reading skills but still don't arrive to manage a good conversation or to speak fluently. My focus is on practising and getting to know the real culture, avoiding stereotypes about Italian people, and having authentic conversations. My first experience with language-teaching and exchange (a good and useful experience) was represented by tandem language learning (when I lived in Brighton). My lessons are structured according to language proficiency levels set by the European framework. But, beyond that, methodology, approach and the relationship between teacher and student are all that matters. Language isn't just grammar. Language is a communicative act and grammar plays a fundamental role in order to learn a language. It can't be, however, the only way to "achieve the objective". I think you can learn languages if you don't get bored, if you feel enthusiasm, if you have passion for what you are learning.

Languages can be tricky: grammar, pronunciation and fluency may seem a lot too juggle all at the same time. As a teacher, I can guide you through the maze of language learning, by providing you with clear insights on the differences between your target language and your native one, to achieve fluency and confidence in your vocabulary.

Tra gli studenti e i tutor nei corsi di specializzazione per l'insegnamento che ho fatto (tra cui il CEDILS -Certificazione in didattica dell'italiano a stranieri e il CELTA - Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) io ero conosciuta come "la giocherellona".
