I have studied foreign languages and literatures at university and I can speak Italian, English, Russian, Spanish and some German. I have been tutoring students for three years now and I have experience in helping both adults and teenagers. I hold a C2 certificate in English, so we won't have any communication problems. I've been told I'm a very precise and patient teacher and, in fact, I truly enjoy helping people.

To relate to different types of people, to be patient, to encourage learning and recognize merits... I also learned new Peruvian, Colombian, Mexican recipes (I am passionate about cooking), and new cultures, along with many idioms from different places... In short, it is I who thank my students. I have been living in Latin America for 3 years now teaching Italian online and in different cities. From Medellín to Guatemala City, from Lima to Santiago de Chile, and from Tijuana to Leticia.

I started teaching on italki in 2016 as a community tutor and I liked it so much I decided to study and get a certification to be able to teach more: I now offer professional lessons as well as informal tutoring and conversation practice. As a student of languages myself, I know that speaking the target language since the start is the way to progress faster. I also know that a relaxed atmosphere is vital to learn effectively, because our brains work much better when not under pressure... don't panick! If you really don't feel like speaking Italian right away, it's not a big deal: we can use English, French or Norwegian.

I will teach you all my communication skills in the Italian language. No matter what level you are at, together we will achieve your goals! We will focus on the conversation, we will analyse dialogues and idioms in Italy, always paying attention to grammar! You will also receive invaluable motivation in learning the Italian language, but also in terms of everyday life.

I am curious, open-minded, and flexible, meaning that I always try to adapt to my student's needs. I believe that the more fun you have, the better you learn! My main focus is a conversation, however, I am open to go through single grammar topics and adapt my lessons accordingly.

I started teaching Italian "by chance", agreeing to the request of a Japanese friend to help her maintain and deepen her knowledge of Italian. I found it fun and inspiring, so I continued. Ho iniziato ad insegnare l'Italiano "per caso", acconsentendo alla richiesta di un'amica giapponese di aiutarla a mantenere e approfondire la sua conoscenza dell'Italiano. Ho trovato la cosa divertente e stimolante, così ho continuato.

I have been studying foreign languages for many years, and I am still in this process. Teaching and learning are two sides of the same coin. You cannot teach if you are not open to learning every single day. I am currently studying to get CEDILS (Certificate to teach Italian to foreigners). Come si evince dalla mia presentazione, non e' mio intento e grado, insegnare ad un livello accademico. Based on my background and life style, my goal in teaching is to improve the communication skill in everyday life needs. As I travelled a lot, I like to give priorities to those common habits and understanding of dialects and slang cacophonic weird sounds which could lead to an unpleasant experience in my beloved country. Such misleading wordings, put myself into some hard time scenarios, both in working environments either everyday life. Therefore, to plan in advance an all round historical and cultural heritance vision, should be a must for everyone willing to learn a new language.

In the last 6 years I thought Italian to hundreds of Chinese students. I taught in Hubei University of Technology, and in many private training centers around china. I am a certified Italian language teacher (CEDILS certification by University of Venice). I also just completed a Master Degree in Teaching Italian as a foreign language by University of Insubria. Besides I got a degree in Teaching Chinese as a foreign language too... I did my studies. My motivation for becoming a teacher is that I enjoy instilling confidence in people and sharing whatever knowledge and experiences that I have had in my life. I'm currently teaching between Italy and Iran, with courses for all levels, normal or intensive, online lessons and preparation courses for Italian certification exams: CELI, CILS, PLIDA (i am a CELI certified examiner). I have taught to people from around the world, in person and online: there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your students learn and improve! ;)

I am a patient, understanding and detail-oriented person; I always try to be as clear as possible so that my students can fully understand me. I always try to be positive and engaging: it is very important to put the student at ease if I want to involve him/her in the lesson, make him/her practice and thus make sure that he/she can really learn. Having had translation studies and linguistics at university I know very well how fundamental these aspects are in learning a language, therefore the translation of short sentences and the logical and grammatical analysis will be an important part of this path. I am available for individual further information if necessary or requested.

Studio lingue straniere fin da bambina e questo mi permette di essere sempre anche “dall’altra parte”, cioè di capire la persona che ho davanti, come si sente davanti alle difficoltà ma anche alle soddisfazioni che imparare una lingua straniera comporta. Cerco di essere l’insegnante che, da studentessa, vorrei avere: qualcuno che mi aiuti a trovare il mio stile di apprendimento personale o che, se già lo conosco, adatti metodologie e materiali a queste mie caratteristiche personali. La preparazione delle lezioni per me è una fase fondamentale: cerco sempre di trovare argomenti interessanti e stimolanti e modi di usare questi materiali che siano adatti ai bisogni specifici dei miei studenti.

The key of my teaching style is «Learning&Doing – Doing& Learning». When I teach offline, every activity, from the one to one lesson to the workshop, from the board game to the Apulian tour, is based on missions to accomplish. Students learn Italian with Karaoke, role plays (would you like to be Pavarotti for few hours?), Italian recipes, cappuccinos to ask in a cafè, treasure-huntings around the city. When I teach online I try to add fun to my lessons: role-plays, quizzes, customized conversations and songs are my trump cards. Smiling is the main ingredient for effective learning. This is the (not so secret) recipe of my lessons!
