My extensive professional and personal background in linguistics, which has encompassed 10 years of study in 9 foreign languages, has provided me with a holistic insight into second language acquisition. Furthermore, my professional ballet training provided me with a unique insight and perception into how dance and language learning overlap as means of expression, where the ability to pay attention to body movements, transitions and music has strong parallels to the skills required to excel in speaking, listening, writing and reading. To determine the learning process, I proceed from the goals of my students. I speak, ask questions, and encourage my students to do the same. I remember that questions can never be stupid. We read stories, newspapers, books, etc. By the way, I have a lot of experience in preparing students for ulpan exams, as well as university exams, for tourism purposes, for reading the Bible or professional vocabulary. Because of my linguistic education, I can explain any, even the most complex grammatical concepts.

Whether you wish to learn the language from the basics or to improve it, I'll be happy to help you with learning while focusing on the practical language which is used daily in the real world. In our class, I'll be working with you on your reading, writing, speaking and pronunciation and help you with any other questions you may have in order to achieve your goals with learning the language, step by step, starting from the first class.

My method of learning involves different aspects : using books, conversations, using body language and through studying short stories. The learning process will mainly be in Hebrew starting from the first lessons. I believe that learning a new language is mostly done by the student so I am here to help you in the learning process. In your lessons with me, I will guide you , give you feedback and also give you the opportunity to practice through hearing and speaking everyday Hebrew. Last year I created a language exchange program, where people could teach their native language in exchange to learn a new language. I myself gave classes in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Hebrew and got the opportunity to learn French. It was a really challenging and rewarding project that made me understand the different needs of my students and be creative with the methods of teaching in order to create fun and challenging classes. I'm highly motivated to teach languages, because I know I can help students to get a really useful tool for life. I'm enjoying to be an important part in the process and see the progress and results.

There are so many interesting things about Hebrew and Israel. Really, it's such a diverse culture, and the language has a long history that had its impect on most of the cultures and languages. For example names of peopel. Or words that came from Hebrew. So I'd like to share it with other people, and bring interesting topics, learn about the Israeli culture from songs, and most of all, just have fun.

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. Before starting to instil any skill in my dance students, I try to reach out to each of them and establish the open channel that is key to learning. This is how I am able to teach the difficult technique of classical ballet to complete adult beginners, women and men. Learning a language is no different and I will offer you my complete attention and support.
