My approach is friendly and involving, because I really love to help other people to learn a new language. Don't be nervous If you make a mistake: you're welcome to ask me questions, to repeat or ask me to reformulate.

I teach German with easy and fun steps. I do not teach grammar with complicated conjugation tables, but with a lot of funny examples. That way, the class does not get boring and the student keeps his interest. I enforce his learning by letting him read good German books, watch famous German videos etc.

Ich begann mit dem Unterrichten von Hochdeutsch 2017 während eines Auslandssemesters. Als ich Italki entdeckte, spezialisierte ich mich auf Zürcherdeutsch und helfe seither Einwanderern bei ihrer Integration in der Schweiz. Das Level variiert dabei von Beginnern bis hinzu Fortgeschrittenen. Aus Mangel an guten Unterrichtsmaterialien habe ich im Verlauf der Jahre meinen eigenen Kurs mit einer Vielzahl verschiedener Übungstypen zusammengestellt. Ich biete auch weiterhin Unterricht in Hochdeutsch an und kann eventuell auch bei weiteren Schweizer Dialekten weiterhelfen.

In my experience the biggest problem with learning a language is that the students think they need to get it perfectly right every time they say something. This stops you from talking freely, and makes you fal short of your full potential. In my lessons, I will encourage you to speak without being afraid of making mistakes. I offer different kinds of lessons, some follow a course structure, others are only focused on conversation. Of course it's also possible to mix a structural approach with free speaking.

I have a university degree (Bachelor and Master) in teaching languages and I have been teaching German, English and Spanish for over 5 years to students of different ages. My oldest student was 80 and I think he is a good example that it is never too late to start learning a new language or enhancing your language skills and taking your language learning to the next level. I'm a very patient and empathetic teacher who thinks mistakes are an important part of the learning process and whose goal it is to create a comfortable learning atmosphere for you.

Meine Arbeit im Kinderarbenteuerhof und im Waldkindergarten in Freiburg hat mir besonders Spaß gemacht und dort habe ich Erfahrungen beim Begleiten von Kindern und Jugendlichen in Lernprozessen sammeln können. In meiner Tätigkeit als Tagesmutter habe ich die Lernbegleitung von 7 heranwachsenden Jugendlichen durch tägliche Hausaufgabenbetreuung übernommen. Derzeit unterrichte ich Deutsch,Mathematik und Musik für Freilehrner-Kinder in Costa Rica.

Most important is to connect with my students,because only when we connect we can learn. My role is being a coach and an instructor,supporting the student on his journey into the new language.

What distinguishes me from other teachers is my passion as well as my strategy. I like to prepare conversation topics, songs, news articles, philosophical questions that have the relevant vocabulary and grammar structures to improve your language skills. Several of my students have started as beginners with me and went on to suceed in moving to Germany. My personal opinion is that anyone can learn a language: it is not a talent, but a skill. Just like math or riding a skateboard, it is a skill that you can develop. I am here to help you hone in on your skills and succeed in your interview, language exam or reading a book in English or German.

I have not only studied languages and acquired diplomas, I also perfected my skills while living abroad for a long time and traveling a lot. I have lived for example in Spain, Chile, Brasil and Portugal for several years, apart from my home country Germany of course! Since I am also learning different languages, I am aware of the difficulties and challenges involved and can help you with any struggles you might face and want to support you in the language learning process.

I'm experienced in studying foreign languages myself, in school I learned English, French and Spanish. But to be honest, it was not as succesfull as I wished. Later, I found much better methods of language learning than the traditional classromm and I'm teaching myself Russian what I like very much. I'm a very empathic and sensitive person, so I can very well adopt to different people and demands. My focus is on structured conversation training, since this is so essential - and most difficult for many students.

Abhängig davon, wie viel Zeit/wie intensiv du Deutsch lernen möchtest, gestalte ich auch den Input in meinen Stunden. Das Wichtigste ist Spaß beim Deutschlernen haben, deshalb steht das immer an oberste Stelle! Depending on how much time/how intensively you want to learn German, I design the input in my lessons. I will engage my young students with child appropriate fun game/songs/stories & short videos ( w/subtitles). I may also speak entirely in German. My goals are for the children to become excited about their lesson and enjoy their time without even noticing that they are studying and learning a foreign language! I am customizing the lesson to my student's needs, desires, goals & available timetable. The curriculum will be totally tailored to ensure the most successful outcome and will be adjusted according to the student's accomplishments and abilities. For several years now, I have had numerous video calls with people from many countries of all continents including a lot of English, French and Spanish native speakers, practising my own foreign languages and helping them to improve their German. So if you speak any of the languages mentioned above, I can assure you that I am very well aware of the typical challenges you encounter with regards to German grammar and pronunciation. I prefer an informal and relaxed teaching style.
