I am disciplined and always well prepared for my lessons, I try to make them as real and relevant as possible. I never stop evolving as a teacher, mastering new and better ways to present material and learning within the content area I teach.

First and foremost I am a learner who enjoys learning languages as a hobby. So I understand the frustrations and challenges faced by students when they try to mesh the theoretical aspects of acquisition with the realities of speaking practice. I have written a language course for those tackling German and my approach with beginners is to introduce new language in a very structured way and to prioritise patterns above vocabulary, at least at the start. For more advanced students I am happy to select materials based on their interests. I always try to put people at ease and believe that learning should be an enjoyable as well as enriching experience.

I can help you to improve your speaking, grammar, writing as well as your listening. I utilize various types of resources in my lessons, such as newspaper articles, games, textbooks and general conversation.

Ich habe im Rahmen des Praxissemesters an einem Gymnasium in Baden-Württemberg die Sprachen Englisch und Französisch unterrichtet, gleichzeitig habe ich aber angefangen als Deutsch Lehrerin für Arenalingua zu arbeiten. Nach einem Jahr habe ich dann durch Fokus zusätzlich unterrichtet. Noch ein Jahr später kam dann noch LTC dazu, weshalb ich mich jetzt dazu entschlossen habe, Arenalingua aufzugeben. Ich habe alle Niveaus von A1 bis C2 unterrichtet, sowohl im Gruppen, als auch im Einzelunterricht. Meine Schüler kommen von überallher: Tschechien, Brasilien, Indien, Pakistan, Mexiko, Argentinien... um nur einige zu nennen.

I pay a lot of attention to mistakes and pronunciation. I speak German very slowly compared to other German natives so that you won't have any trouble understanding me. Since I haven't study German officially I might not be a grammar expert but I can ensure you totally that I am very good in doing research and preparing sources for you. I know exactly where to look these kind of things up when I am getting asked questions about grammar and I was told that I explain very very well and easy.

I've been described as a chill, friendly and very supportive teacher by my students. As mentioned, I have taught German to elementary school kids and middle aged people. As a teacher I'm very energetic, motivating and am also giving a lot of extra tips on how to improve with little daily habits when you are on your own. Consistency is key when learning a language! I give you the little extra boost of confidence that you sometimes need when learning a language.

I understand that the students have little time and I believe in small portions on a regular basis. It will be more helpful to speak 2 times a week for 30 minutes than, 1 time for 60. I want you to get where you want to be with the German language. For this, it would be helpful to know your goals. I will give you my ideas and introduce you to what helped me acquire fluency in 5 languages. However, it is all up to you, and the most important is that you are enjoying the classes.

Languages and teaching have always played a major role in my life. My first teaching experiences go back to when I was 12 years old, I helped friends with French. At the age of 15, it was drawings for art classes, and later on English and German. As a linguist at the university, the seminars were a bit more theoretical, but not only. Seminars such as Old English or The Development of Languages were actually quite practical in nature. Since I was also responsible for the training of future teachers, I did a lot of research in the field of second language acquisition, which influenced my own teaching style a lot.
