I worked as a freelance tutor for more than two decades and helped many students to achieve their goals. Everyone is different and while I have a nice toolbox of proven methods to help a student I will always adjust to my students and their needs. Language acquisition has many steps. We will need a good solid foundation before we can really build out our new language core.

I have been teaching German since 2014. I will design the lessons according to your needs. If you would like to improve speaking, we can do conversation classes on topics such as travel, culture, music, art, sports, your job and much more. If you would like to improve your pronunciation and vocabulary, we can read short texts together and discuss them. Maybe you intend to work or study in Germany in the near future, then I can prepare you for your new job or university.

As a teacher I am a huge disciple of learning while speaking and love to give examples of context and situation. A structural approach to learning a new language is key. Grammar and vocabularies are mandatory while often more easily learned by heart through stories and repeated use. It is most important to have a good time and to have fun while learning, as well as keeping my teaching goal oriented towards your needs. I will have to get to know your goals so that we can figure out an individual learning plan for you while I guide you through the different levels of competence.

My lessons will be conversational for pupils with intermediate or advanced German skills (B1 - C1). My main goal is to teach you German in a fun way, where you aren't afraid of speaking and making mistakes. First we will set your goal, then I will help you to reach it. To actually speak a new language is problably the hardest part. Therefore I belief it's important to focus on topics you are interested in. I want to teach you how German is actually spoken, rather teaching you "textbook" German. Please note: I don't teach children or teens.

I have lots of experience in teaching all ages. I am very patient and friendly and want my student to feel comfortable and enjoy the time with me. A lesson without laughing is a failed lesson. Since I studied linguistics I understand and can teach grammar very well. Ich habe viel Erfahrung Menschen jeglichen Alters zu unterrichten und bin sehr geduldig und freundlich. Mir ist es sehr wichtig, dass sich mein Schüler wohl fühlt und wir beim Lernen Spaß haben! Durch meine Bildung bin ich in der Lage die deutsche und englische Grammatik zu unterrichten.

Außer meines Freiwilligenjahres in Russland habe ich auch während meines Auslandssemesters in Frankreich Deutsch und Englisch unterrichtet und Präsentationen über das österreichische Deutsch und unsere Dialekte gehalten.

Erfahrungen als Sprachlehrer habe ich bereits als Französisch- Nachhilfelehrer gesammelt. Ich denke, dass der eins zu eins Unterricht ideal ist um sich komplett auf deine Ziele, Bedürfnisse und deinen individuellen Lernforschritt einzulassen. Da ich selber auf iTalki spanisch lerne, weiß ich, dass eine gute Beziehung zwischen Lehrer und Schüler, die vorallem auf gegenseitigem Respekt, Geduld und viel Empathie beruht, unabdingbar ist.

Als community teacher möchte ich vor allem das Anwenden der Sprache üben. Ich möchte euch helfen, mehr Sicherheit beim Sprechen zu erlangen und eure sprachlichen Fähigkeiten sowie Kenntnisse zu verbessern. Das Ziel meiner Unterrichtsstunden ist, dass ihr mit Spaß eine neue Sprache erlernt und bereits vorhandenes Wissen vertieft.

I like to set my students thinking and to see how a learning process progresses. I have already worked with people of all ages and noticed that not everyone learns the same way. But what has helped everyone is patience, attention, and trust from the teacher. Since I myself wasn't very satisfied with how my teachers, back at my school days, were teaching, my aim is doing it better. I really like teaching, I've been doing it for 16 years. I'm fluent in Spanish and German as a mother language. I focus a lot on grammar and writing, but I also offer conversation classes. Mir wurde in meiner Schulzeit sehr oft gesagt dass ich sehr präzise und ruhig beim erklären bin, weshalb ich mich auch entschieden habe Unterricht auf Italki zu geben. Als Lehrer versuche ich jeden Fehler beim sprechen rauszuhören und immer auch gleich Korrekturen mitzugeben. Ich bin auch komfortable genug Korrekturen, oder auch Antworten auf Englisch zu beantworten. I was often told during my school days that I am very precise and calm during explanations, which is why I decided to teach on Italki. I try as a teacher to always pick out every mistake during speaking and to always give corrections. I am also comfortable enough to give corrections, or answers in English.

Currently, I'm giving private lessons in English and Italian. Since 2018 I am teaching Italian (A1-A2) at an adult learning centre (Volkshochschule). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I switched from classroom to online lessons in March 2020. Since June 2020 I am giving an online lesson every week in German to a lady living in Düsseldorf.
