I take a more relaxed and fun approach in teaching English. I generally guide students to the answer and wait patiently for them to figure out the answers for themselves. Of course, I help when necessary and support the student when learning.

I am a CELTA certified and Licensed Teacher working with teenagers and adults online. I also a licensed teacher certified to teach social studies in the states of Florida and Washington and have my Masters in Education with a concentration on teaching English as a Second Language. I usually allow one instance of rescheduling without penalty in an emergency situation.

I have been a dance teacher for 40 years, so that I am sure I love teaching! At some times in the past, I have also given private language lessons at home, but it was hard to fit them into my family life. Now with italki offering online teaching, I am pleased to come back to it. I see teaching fundamentally as a way of communicating. If the student needs conversation skills for business presentations, I provide the structure and practice to help them target their goals based on their immediate needs. Younger students need to reinforce the grammar they are learning in school with listening, oral reading, and writing assignments. I am by nature a structured teacher, but I like to make English real and usable for each student.

I have recently qualified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) and now want to gain in experience giving conversational classes on italki as a Community Teacher. I am a native English speaker and do not have any definable accent.

As I’ve studied Korean for over seven years, I also know how it feels to be the student. It can be intimidating, even overwhelming. Because of this, I’ve developed tips and tricks that help any language learner feel more comfortable and confident. Please help me help you! If you provide me with a topic or area of interest in advance, I’ll focus our lesson time on that. Please also let me know if there is a particular phrase, grammar structure, or situation in English that you find difficult so that I can develop sample sentences and activities for our lesson time. If requests and details are not provided at least 24 hours in advance of our lesson, I cannot guarantee full preparation.

I'm a very fun, loving and accommodating teacher. I aim to understand and engage with every student according to their level and personality. I understand that every student is different, and therefore not every student should be taught the same way and that is the beauty of teaching.
