As a teacher I am very patient, speaking slowly and carefully and checking the student’s pronunciation and understanding. I am able to think of and present new ways of explaining a particular point should the student have difficulty in understanding. I am professional in my manner and appearance and have excellent time keeping. I believe in constructive criticism and also lots of praise to give the student confidence.

I have been teaching for the last eleven years and have experience of working in a range of educational establishments. In terms of ESL, I am an Cambridge Oral examiner for their international exams ( A2-C1) and have experience of preparing students for these exams. I have extensive experience of preparing students for IELTS exams and teaching students online, particularly the speaking and writing components of the exams. Also I am an IB examiner and have taught Business Management, English B and the Theory of Knowledge.

As stated in my introduction video, I am a TEFL certified ESL English teacher. I have five years experience teaching English as a second language to people of all ages. I believe in using many forms of media in my lessons to allow for more creative learning. In 2008 I enrolled on a teacher training course in Peru and I have been teaching English ever since. I am familiar with the latest TEFL techniques and I will help you learn my language whatever your level. All you need is a little dedication and perseverance! I love my job and I mostly teach adults but also children from age 9 upwards. I have a neutral, easily understood British accent, perfect for teaching English. I have a lot of patience and I am particularly proficient in teaching English to native Spanish speakers, but it really doesn't matter where you are from.

Teaching is a family profession. Afterwards, I started working very young, and have continued teaching ever since for more than 22 years. I’ve taught various groups: from kindergarten all the way up to post-graduate. A teacher should always study and continue to learn. So through my career I’ve gathered many certificates, diplomas and other documents including TOEFL Test preparation, First Certificate, Advanced Reading, Teaching by Competences, etc. Graduated with a minor in Human Resources, I’ve also studied ESL for business skills like job interviews, accounting, importing and exporting in North America, and customer service.

I am TEFL and IELTS qualified as of last year. I had the fantastic opportunity to teach in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 4 weeks. Since January 2019, I have been helping people with their English speaking skills. As a teacher, I am fun, reliable, respectful and creative. I totally understand how hard it is to learn a new language and sometimes things don't quite 'click and fall into place'. That's perfectly fine, it's part of the process. I have taught people of all ages and abilities and love to see people improve their skills, abilities and most importantly their confidence. I also maximise and encourage speaking as much as possible, as I feel its the best way to learn a new langauge.

I like to make some random jokes in my classes to keep the topic interesting and really analyze how you, the student, can improve. I write down notes and am always well prepared so we can be as effective as possible.
