As a teacher, I love to make students feel confident to speak English with me and make mistakes. I feel that it is essential to not be scared to communicate and express your opinion even if it is a bit difficult at the beginning. I have learned 5 foreign languages myself, that is why I know many effective and fun methods to memorize information and communicate faster! I strongly believe that learning should be a fun process - that is when it is the most effective. I have lived in many different cultural backgrounds - would love to discuss about cultural customs as well. For many years I worked in schools, in fact, I have been a pedagogical coordinator in one of them, and since 2015 I have been a private teacher. For two years nows I have been offering mostly online classes.

I'd like to find out about hobbies and interests as well as your specific goals so that the lessons are as interesting and relevant to you as they can be. It's important for me to get to know your preferences, for example whether you want me to give you feedback continually and correct any mistakes you make at the time, or if you prefer me to give more general feedback at the end of the lesson. I have been teaching English as a volunteer and a tutor off and on for many years. I really enjoy working with and helping Spanish speakers. My Spanish level seems to increase as their English level increases. It is very satisfying and gratifying to see my students' confidence and excitement be awakened. My academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, and a Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry. My lessons are focused on building your skills in all areas of language learning: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. During the lesson, we will work on speaking and listening through role-playing activities ("scheduling a meeting", "ordering a pizza"), speaking tasks (job interviews, introducing yourself), and conversations about topics that interest you. News articles, homework, and other authentic materials are provided to help increase your vocabulary and fluency. All classes are conducted on Zoom.

What originally led me to teaching were my high school teachers and my mother who always has talked about her grandfather that was a teacher. Teaching is a noble profession. I enjoy explaining how we in the US say the words (pronounce them) and how we put sentences together so they sound right. I think I'm a good teacher of English.
