As an instructor, I am keen on making sure that students are comfortable and I always customize my lessons to each student’s needs. In terms of teaching materials, if you have a specific book you would like to use, I would be happy to teach you from it. Otherwise, after an initial lesson I will be able to gain a sense of your needs and I will provide you with the appropriate materials. I can also record the lessons and provide you with audio or video files that you can use to study after class.

Since that I live in Istanbul, I meet people from all around the world. I'm experienced in teaching and helping others understand Arabic and Turkish. I'm not considered chatty or talkative, rather I am a good listener and enjoy listening to others and build two-way communications.

I'm a professional Arabic teacher for non native speakers. I also teach English and Korean for beginners.

I started my teaching journey during my second year in engineering school, six years ago. Used to meet with fellow students at the library where I explained to them things that they could not understand in class. So I started giving private one to one sessions to University students in math and physics. I taught these subjects for three years up until I graduated. After that, I became a freelance tutor in Arabic Language and I have been helping people speak Arabic for the past three years.

I have learnt English since I was a child and 3 years ago I started to learn Turkish. Being able to learn two languages other than my native in different periods of my life helped to know where to focus and find the most useful ways of teaching Arabic. One of my best skills is that I have a good talent of explaining Arabic and cultural terms to my foreign friends.

I am patient, attentive, and most importantly creative. I believe that learning a new language should be always fun so I'll consistently come up with new and creative ideas that will make our lessons more enjoyable.

My focus as a language teacher is to guide and instruct each student in a positive, flexible, and encouraging learning environment so that they can progress confidently towards reaching their language learning goals.

I only give lessons to students who already have a basic knowledge of levantine Arabic or who have learned MSA before. So I'll try to talk only in Arabic and I won't use English unless it's necessary. Everybody has a unique learning style and different goals, so my lessons will be tailored to fit your needs and preferences. My focus will be mostly on conversation. I don't like to focus too much on grammar. However, if you have questions or want to practice a specific grammatical concept, I can help you with that and provide you with exercises. I'll provide you with various resources that can help you learn alone and I'll be available to answer your questions outside of the lessons.

I believe the best way to learn a language is to love it. Yes, I learned English and Turkish this way. I started teaching Arabic by volunteering at Small Project Istanbul (SPI), an NGO which helps displaced Syrians in Istanbul. Many volunteers at SPI were interested in learning Arabic and I was a perfect match for them. They encouraged me to become a teacher as they believed in my teaching methods. That was the reason I began teaching on Italki in February, 2017. I am an easy going, flexible teacher. I enjoy being a community teacher because I prefer conversation to grammar which is why I am also working at Conversations Unbound: an NGO that connects students from America with Arabic.

I have graduated of the Faculty of Commerce, specializing in Management and Economics from Ain Shams University, Egypt So I can teach you the language related to business or public language or to prepare for your exams or whatever your goal of learning the language we will work together to achieve it.

Through my experience in teaching, I have good knowledge on how to let the learners learn the target language fast and accurately. Since I learnt many languages, I know how difficult it is for the beginngers to learn the language, but at the same time I know how to let them avoid the frustration of this process.

I am kind, patient, understanding, and slow. I make sure the student is smiling by the end of the lesson and that she or he feels comfortable at all times. I have many educational materials and interactive technology programs, to keep students active and enthusiastic throughout the lesson.

To be honest, teaching Arabic isn't my major which I have a Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry. However, firstly, I'm an educated native Arabic speaker and I have been teaching Arabic (MSA + Levantine) to foreigners for more than two years and I today I have a great experience in helping foreigners to speak this language. Secondly, I've been studying Arabic since I was 4. Which, in Syria, we study Arabic in reception, primary, middle, high school, and even in tertiary education, In which Syrian universities are the only universities in the world that teach Medicine or Dentistry in Arabic. I created my own podcast (Alhasan's Arabic Pod) where u can learn many useful things in MSA & Levantine.

Although I am native speaker of both Levantine Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic, I will be primarily giving lessons on Levantine Arabic, either conversation practice or grammar, as it is what I have experience teaching and feel more comfortable with. I can help you with MSA only if you are looking to practice speaking.
