Hello My name is Vanessa. I am a native English speaker from the UK. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for three years, but I have also taught maths for over 25 years. I am a friendly and approachable person who enjoys meeting and speaking to people. I have also worked in the public and private sector in roles of data analysis, computer programming and administration. From my university studies in the cities of London and Sheffield, I have been fortunate to study and socialise with international students from across the globe. I am interested in health, well-being, walking and yoga. I love ‘good’ films and tv series but, as you know, ‘good’ is a matter of opinion!

عني كمعلّم

I have had many years of teaching experience which includes teaching in an international college for overseas students who were studying in preparation for entry to UK Universities. I have been teaching English online for over three years and I have found that I have the skill and flexibility to prepare and adapt lessons to suit individuals and help to meet their learning preferences. My personal experience of being a student learning a language is an added benefit in stimulating ideas and strategies for teaching and learning. I am a creative and resourceful person who will really put in the effort to meet your needs and wishes.

I mainly offer conversation classes but, throughout the lesson, I will consider grammar and pronunciation with the intention of encouraging you to engage confidently in converstation with native speakers. For my lessons, I am well-prepared but also flexible and adaptable. I believe that one of the most important tools I can have as a teacher is the ability to obtain a good overview of you as a learner. My priorities include making sure that you are comfortable in the lesson and that you feel positive about your experience. I will welcome and encourage your participation in the lessons. I will also welcome and act on your feedback on the lessons.
