I am a FUN and encouraging English teacher with great methods and exciting content. I am also able to assist with perfecting YOUR pronunciation and intonation.
I am a well organized professional with proven teaching and guidance skills.
I have worked as a primary school teacher at a school in South Africa for 2 years. I am passionate about using the right methodology and approach to help YOU grow in confidence in speaking, writing and reading English.

I like to use a variety of teaching styles to find out what works best for each learner, these include:
Visual - images, flashcards and graphs to spark conversation and improve vocabulary.
Audio - audio clips and short videos that enhance classroom topics.
Written - once writing, I encourage learners to write and practice as much as possible.
Movement - sometimes jumping, clapping and acting helps us learn quicker.
Games - I enjoy turning learning activities into games so that we can learn without even noticing it!

Facilitators Course - Pinelands North Primary School - 2019I was awarded this certificate for completing the August 2019 Facilitation course offered by our school. I looked closely at learning barriers, such as; Audio-processing disorder, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia etc and how to overcome them in a classroom and learning environment.

Foundation Phase Mentor FacilitatorI have worked as a the Foundation Phase Mentor Facilitator at a local primary school, Pinelands North Primary School (PNPS) for over a year. My duties include teaching children between the ages of 6 and 10 to read and write, as well as maths skills. I work one-on-one with learners within the larger classroom setting of up to 32 learners. I like to use phonetics (Jolly Phonics) and other fun teaching techniques to encourage good English skills.

Today's topic was Coffee Culture. We started with match words to their definitions, I practised reading an article on the PDF, then we talked about coffee and other drinks. I was very happy to see her again because I took a week off last week.

In today's lesson, 'Communication is not that easy' was our discussion. We discussed questions from the PDF that Lara sent to me, I completed the tables with words that can be matched and filled in some sentences with the correct form of the verbs on the table.

Rise of the mammone is a very interesting topic. Lara sent me a video link and a PDF to check before the lesson. We talked about the video for approximately 25 minutes then continued to understand some words. The lesson isn't finished yet because Lara has an urgent thing to do, so we'll continue discussing this topic in the next lesson.
