Hello there! My name is Nicole and I speak English and Bulgarian. Like most Americans, I grew up speaking English. However, my family is originally from Bulgaria, and I spent the last six years living in Sofia (the capital). I'm a recently-graduated medical student - beginning my residency soon! I joined italki because I have friends I've helped learn Bulgarian, and it has been fulfilling to guide them along their journeys over time, especially since there are so few resources out there. عني كمعلّم

All my life I have communicated with my family in Bulgarian! I spent the last six years living in Bulgaria, where I spoke even more frequently than I did while I was living at home. Growing up in the US, I have been speaking English in school, at home, and even abroad at university. As a teacher, I am pretty light hearted and patient. :) I would like to get to know you as a person so that you feel comfortable practicing Bulgarian with me. I can offer insight on areas for improvement, challenge you, and keep you engaged throughout the conversations we have!

I am focused on helping beginners with simple and effective communication skills. My goal is to create a comfortable and interactive experience so that you can leave the conversation having learned something that you can use in future conversations. Our lessons will focus on topics that are important for you and have always wanted to talk about in Bulgarian. In other words, I will adapt my teaching style to whatever you want to practice that session. :)

I had a very nice lesson with Nicole. She gave me a lot of different beginner phrases and we also reviewed the numbers in Bulgarian. She is very knowledgeable about the language.
