Hello! I am a native English speaker from London, with five years’ teaching experience. I'm really fascinated by all aspects of language and communication. In addition to teaching I am currently undertaking a professional qualification in proofreading. I have a First Class Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, which taught me lots about the importance of effective communication and language. I also enjoy vegan cooking, film, drawing, reading, architecture and design, and hope to one day have a house full of rescue dogs!

Through clear communication, patience, empathy and encouragement, I would love to help you grow in confidence and ability in your English. My main specialism is proofreading and text editing, including academic essays (such as PhD theses), university applications, blog posts, and novels. I can also assist students who wish to develop or refine their writing skills in a broader sense, such as in preparation for an English exam or to improve their performance and confidence in the workplace. I am also highly experienced in helping students prepare for and achieve high scores in exams such as IELTS, FCE and CAE. Please note: my lessons are not suitable for under 14s.

***Please note: due to high workload, I am currently only able to accept new students for offline proofreading lessons*** My lessons are completely bespoke to each student’s objectives and needs. I use authentic resources such as news articles, interviews and podcasts to help students gain familiarity in natural written and spoken English. I can also provide homework - if you like! In our first trial lesson we’ll establish your goals and motivations for learning, and use these to develop a tailored, personalised teaching plan which can be adapted as we go. I look forward to speaking with you! :)

My proofreading experience spans many genres, from Postgraduate dissertations and academic texts, to corporate reports to fictional novels. I am also currently undertaking a professional proofreading qualification with the Publishing Training Centre to further develop and strengthen my skills in this area.
