After taking Spanish classes for just over a year on I-talki with one teacher alone, I finally decided to open myself up to learning from other teachers, which has been hugely beneficial. Amongst the excellent teachers that I have studied with, I would have say that I have learned more from Melyssa than anyone (and I have had several excellent teachers on I-talki). Melyssa is a committed and serious teacher, who challenges me to do my best work, at the same time, she is generous in spirit, understanding and unfailingly, she is patient with me. If you are truly invested in improving upon your Spanish, I highly recommend Melyssa for your consideration. Regarding the class structure, we cover all aspects of Spanish, from writing, conversation, grammar and listening. Our conversations are always followed up with many (!) corrections, which are reviewed step by step with additional examples and explanations. I have learned sooo much with Melyssa, and there is much more to come. Superb!

Melyssa is a truly excellent teacher who has helped me significantly improve my Spanish speaking as well as writing, with proven results. I needed to take the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview for work and was stuck in the Intermediate level for three attempts before learning about iTalki. After signing up and taking weekly lessons with Melyssa I retook the exam this month and finally received an Advanced rating. I have never felt more confident in my ability to communicate in Spanish and this sense of accomplishment is in large part to the instruction I've received from Melyssa. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone and everyone looking to improve their Spanish speaking abilities for personal or professional reasons.

I don't like making conclusions just yet, but I may have finally found the ideal Spanish teacher for me! I'm blown away by the first impression. Melyssa is professional, adaptable, and has attention to detail. However, she provides this atmosphere where you feel relaxed yet ready to learn with her. She makes the most out of the conversation by offering ample speaking opportunities. She created a document that included my responses, corrections, and grammatical explanations. I loved that she also had my errors to see where I went wrong. I appreciate the effort she puts into her lessons, so thanks for such an enriching experience for the Spanish language!
