Nice to meet you, I’m Mamiko.
I have over 5 years of professional experience teaching Japanese during which I've acquired the skill of adjusting to my students' learning style and the qualities of being an effective teacher.
If you ask me, a student is like a plant.
Giving them water and fertilizer helps them grow. This is my cup of tea.
My ultimate goal is to make them blossom into a beautiful flower as opposed to letting them wither away.

Grammar: grammar 30-40min / listening 10min / speaking 10-15min
homework/listening quiz and pronunciation modify
This class is for students who are interested in taking JLPT test and want to brush up their Japanese. Of course beginners as well. We basically use Genki or Minnano nihongo. You will have a quiz every lesson and homework.
Speaking: Many students have learned the rules of Japanese grammar, but feel uncomfortable speaking due to a lack of practice. This lesson is designed to help you gain confidence in speaking Japanese.

I haven't studied Japanese intensely since years ago when I was in University classes.
In the past, I had trouble keeping up with the language through self-study or casual italki lessons.
Mamiko Sensei is extremely skilled at adjusting the lesson material to fit whatever level, or mix of levels, your Japanese language skill is at.
That sort of ability can be very difficult to find in a teacher and I feel usually only comes from years of experience in teaching that area.
It's very easy for me to tell that she's an extremely skilled and experienced instructor - one that I feel very fortunate to be able to learn from.
The quality of the lessons with Mamiko Sensei are always very high, and an absolute joy that I look forward to each week.

Fantastic first lesson with Mamiko Sensei! The lesson was interesting and pushed my listening and speaking abilities - two areas which I am trying to improve. Mamiko was very patient & cheerful which made me feel comfortable and welcome during the first lesson. Can't wait for the next lesson!
