Mi piace coinvolgere gli studenti in attività che attraggano la loro attenzione e su argomenti molto vari in modo da poter spaziare su varie tematiche. In questo modo saranno pronti ad affrontare a proprio agio conversazioni di vario tipo. Di fondamentale importanza è focalizzarsi sui punti di debolezza dell'alunno e fare in modo che diventino i loro cavalli di battaglia.

Mi piace utilizzare un documento condiviso google doc da usare come quaderno degli appunti. Con questo documento possiamo tenere traccia dei progressi dello studente e possiamo incollare articoli, immagini o slide utili per imparare la lingua. Posso conversare su praticamente qualsiasi cosa e utilizzo la conversazione come metodo informale per spiegare grammatica e concetti.

Da dicembre 2020 insegno italiano agli studenti stranieri in alcune scuole di Milano. Trovo che sia una esperienza gratificante e molto interessante. Mi considero un'insegnante paziente e comprensiva.

I have over six years' experience teaching languages to children, teenagers, and adults of different backgrounds and nationalities. I have taught English and Italian in Italy, Australia, Germany, Macedonia, England, Slovakia and Spain on a one-to-one basis as well as in a group setting. I took my CELTA Certificate (Pass B) in 2016 at IH Milan. In 2018 I also completed the IH CYLT course that helped me develop my skills in teaching young leaners. I have been teaching on ITALKI since 2014 and it is the best job I have ever had. I have been teaching some of my students online since the very beginning. I have also met some of them in person, either in their own countries or in Italy.

My first aim is to make you feel comfortable speaking Italian. As a language learner myself, I know the challenges of overcoming that fear, that's why I will create a space where you don't feel judged and where you can learn by your mistakes.

I can help you build your confidence if you're a beginner or bring your Italian to the next level if you're already familiar with the language. I will test your level (grammar-vocabulary) before starting any classes so that I can tailor the perfect course for you! I did maths and physics tutoring for high school students, while this will be my first experience as an Italian language tutor. However, I believe I will be able to do that since I am a native speaker and I have an excellent knowledge of grammar. I also have a good knowledge of English, gained at school and during periods spent abroad; for this reason I can also teach students who have difficulties in having a conversation in Italian.

I have a Master Degree in teaching Italian and the CELTA certification to teach English, so I can truly understand the differences between the two languages and I can help you avoid translation errors and recognize false friends. I consider myself fortunate to have had the chance to combine the two things I love the most - travelling and teaching and in fact I taught languages in several countries: Uk, China, Germany and now Italy. My lessons are based on conversation and I'll make sure to give you the language tools in order to speak Italian or English from day one. I graduated from Università Statale di Milano in 2013 in "Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures". After university, I obtained a 1st Level Master in "Promoting and Teaching of Italian Language and Culture to Foreigners". In 2013 I was an intern at the Italian department of Kennesaw State University, USA. My Master’s final project was published as an article in an specialized Italian LS/L2 magazine. After my Master, I had many teaching experiences, also with Individuals with learning disabilities, both in Italy and in the USA. I worked in Pennsylvania as a Teaching Assistant for the elementary, intermediate and advanced Italian language and culture classes at Bucknell University, Lewisburg.

I'm a big fan of the Italian language (and culture) and I love to help people learn it. I know it can be tough but with patience and motivation it can be fun. From my personal experience as a learner, I've come to realize that the best way to learn and practice a language is using it for everyday matters, especially to talk about one's passions and hobbies. Talking about the things we like is a positive, stimulating way of practicing; learning becomes quicker, more natural and less tiring. I want my students to feel free to express themselves without being judged, so don't be afraid to speak and make mistakes with me: mistakes are an excellent way to learn!

I have a Master’s degree in foreign languages taken at the University of Catania. I have been teaching for about 8 years now. I started working at one of the local hospitals in town where I taught English and Spanish to medicine students and doctors. In 2015 I set up a school of languages which I run and where I still teach English and Italian today (along with other fellow teachers). I’m a qualified TEFL teacher, qualification that I got by joining a 120-hour TEFL course, held at school, given by an expert TEFL teacher, and I have got a Certificate of Proficiency in English (level C2). Moreover, I have worked for many companies based in my city.

Working as a teacher with many different students and learning styles forces me to adapt my materials and subjects to each and every person I have in front of me. Therefore teaching is never boring! I realised that students are mainly interested in conversation and developing the speaking tips that are so important to get through a real situation with native speakers. So, in my (our) lessons the student will be the one speaking, the main character who, with my guidance, will be able to find a way to express him/herself in a new language!

Sono anche io uno studente su italkie dove cerco di migliorare l’inglese per questioni lavorative. Credo che una lingua nasca per essere parlata e quindi il solo modo per migliorare e perfezionarsi sia appunto parlarla. A volte lo stress, l’emozione o gli impegni lavorativi ci impediscono di tirare fuori tutte le nostre potenzialità. Per questo mi piace affrontare la lezione come una conversazione fra amici, rilassati e sereni. Particolare attenzione agli stranieri che vengono a lavorare in Italia.
