I enjoy having conversations and getting to know my student. I believe that we need to be able to communicate and have fun together. Without this, the lessons will be boring and neither of us want that.

I have worked as a teacher for the past three years while developing my teaching skills through the completion of an MATESOL and enrolling in a doctoral degree in curriculum design and instruction. I have enjoyed working with a variety of ages, from children to adults. In addition to my master's degree, I also hold a teaching license from the state of Massachusetts (Grades 5-12) and have worked with the board of education in Japan for the past year. My top priority as an instructor is to see you grow, developing the skills you need to achieve your success.

I like to create an atmosphere where 'mistakes' are not something to be afraid of , but are viewed as a chance to improve. I enjoy a relaxed learning environment but I am comfortable with pointing out ways people can enhance their English skills and will do it in a constructive way. I believe building relationships and getting to know students likes and dislikes is key to a good series of lessons and I will use teaching strategies that have worked for me as a teacher and a learner in the past.

Learning with me is immersive and fun. My lessons are friendly and informal, and geared exactly towards your needs and what you want from learning English. I am confident that I know my topic and that I have the ability to explain how and why English works. I am a good listener, and you will get much out of each class. Having learned two other languages myself, both Spanish and Guarani, I know firsthand what it takes to learn another language, and you will get the benefit of my experience to help you learn.

I have been teaching English in Korea and the UK for nearly 10 years now. In Korea, I worked at private language institutions such as Wall Street Institute and Direct English where I taught students of various ages and careers. In the UK, I briefly taught in the summer programme at Bristol Language Centre, but I've mainly worked at the University of Bath where I am currently based. I am now working as an educational researcher, but still occasionally teaching students on academic skills. I am also a CELTA qualified teacher with a Master’s in TESOL and PhD in Education.

I took part in the CELTA training and acquired the certificate after obtaining my degree. I will do my best to help you on your path of English learning, and I believe we can make quick progress, as my CELTA tutors assessed: I'm a patient teacher who would make my students comfortable during the lesson, I'm able to respond to the feedback and improve my lessons and teaching skills, and most importantly, I am motivated.

I have a relaxed and friendly attitude and experience teaching people of all levels. I was a teacher at an academy in Spain where students were studying for the Cambridge exams so I'm familiar with these and helped students achieve success in them. I've also taught IELTS and employees in companies, as well as offering conversational classes.

Since 2015 I have taught full time to students from 13 to 65 years of age, from basic academic skills to advanced business levels (for companies like Amazon, LinkedIn, Burger King and Walmart), and to people from all continents; always adapting to their needs. I got my certification as a foreign language teacher from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2019. I can switch from English to Spanish or vice versa if needed (but I generally prefer only to speak in the language I teach), and I can also support with different accents, formal expressions or slang. I have helped others presenting international certifications such as the IELTS, TOEFL and USA and Mexico citizenship.

I like to focus on conversation, pronunciation, and intonation. I also teach grammar and practical, functional phrases that will help you to speak confidently in everyday life situations. I will make my sessions interesting and engaging. I will first assess your level and then offer you highly customized language sessions so that you can talk about the topics of your choice. So, if you are interested in, for example, history, politics, arts, science, cooking, music or cinema, we can discuss whatever it is that interests you. I am knowledgeable in a whole range of subjects and will cater to your personal interests.

I have a special need to help people who dream of visiting or relocating, doing business with, or meeting new friends from English Speaking countries with no language or communication barriers. I will help you actualise those dreams.

Since moving to the Philippines, I have learned what it means to need a new language for everyday life. I know what it's like to understand what you hear and then be unable to respond. I appreciate that an intelligent person, who has a great vocabulary in their native language, may feel frustrated when they struggle to say something in their second language. I understand how it feels to be unable to show your personality because you cannot think of the right words. I want to help every person who takes a lesson from me feel more comfortable using what they know, and I want to be a part of their continued growth. I understand what my students need because I am a student.

I see myself as a mirror: I can help and guide you through the language, present grammar rules, explain vocabulary, answer questions, and correct your mistakes, but your improvement and progress are entirely up to you, how enthusiastic you are about the language you study, and your motivations. I encourage you to make mistakes, express yourself freely, and make decisions as to how you want the lessons to go. A teacher is a resource. Slowly but surely, your skills will flourish and you´ll become confident in your language abilities. For me, this is one of the best parts of my work. :)

Teaching has been a passion of mine from a very early age. I love watching people benefit and change for the better due to the education they are receiving. I started teaching English around 8 years ago. In recent years I've been teaching both teenagers and adults and I've worked with different books, such as Interchange, Passages, Top Notch, Summit, American English File, and so on. I have an M.A. in teaching English as a foreign language and an FCE certificate (First Certificate in English) with a grade A. I'm interested in teaching because it's always been an innate desire for me. I have always been enthusiastic about sharing what I know with other people. I love teaching both English and Persian!

I have a degree in Physical Therapy, however, I found that teaching English is my vocation.
