Before I call myself a teacher, I'm a lifelong learner. I struggled with English at school. Years of learning but still was not able to hold a conversation. So what made me change? You can't expect someone to learn a language through random grammar or irrelevant vocabularies. How much do you think it would serve when you actually talk to people? It's about making personal connection. This is what I realised when I nearly got my passport stolen while traveling Egypt. It made me speak, initiate and argue. I cared nothing but the conversation to deal with it. From then, I completely changed the way I learn. I'd like you to have the same attitude, like an angry backpacker!

I am a professional Korean teacher. Now I live in Jeonju in Korea. I have been teaching on italki since 2017, but I first started in 2011. I was in an exchange program in Tanzania in the university and I helped some children speak Korean at Hangeul school. It was a new experience for me and I had a really good time with them. After that, when I traveled to Southeast Asia, I met some foreigners who were interested in Korean culture especially K-pop and K-dramas. I found out people feel happy to have a conversation in a foreign language with a native speaker. Those experiences made me think teaching Korean might be one of the wonderful things I can do. That’s why I got a certificate.

Currently I teach Korean at private academy here in mexico. But I am extremly excited to start teaching on Italki <Spanish> En este momento doy classes de coreano en una academia aqui en Mexico. Y ahora estoy muy emocionada de poder enseñar aqui en italki.

<Covering All Levels> I used to teach Korean and English to international exchange students when I was in university. I mainly taught them how to write 한글 ( Korean writing) and how to speak properly in various situations through videos, Korean songs, and some text books and study materials provided. Most of them were beginner's level and they could have improved their Korean skill so quickly. However, I also taught advanced level students and a student studying for TOPIK test. Hence, I can basically cover all levels. In addition, when I was in the US, I used to teach Korean to Korean American kids who were born and raised in the US.

As a language teacher, I have to be explicit communication with my students in terms of interacting, stimulate cognitive and consistency. In my previous teaching experience with teenagers, I learnt from them to be patient and keep motivating what is their goal and want to be. Of course, there are many dispositions to teach them. But, my key of teaching are fun, easy and practical. We can have a good time learning Korean many different ways such as K-drama, K-pop if you like any of those. If you’re interested in learning Korean for learning reasons, for example, business and test preparation. I am happy to customise our lessons to suit your purpose as well as your level.

Just as how much I enjoy learning new languages, I do love to teach my native language to others as well. I have experience of setting up a Korean club in my college to teach students. I have taught not only the language itself but also the Korean culture and history; which helps us to understand the language better.
