I love to study to be a better teacher and currently I am studying at the graduate school of education, majoring in 'teaching Korean as a second language'. As a language learner myself I understand how scary and confusing it can be. To be fluent and confident you need lots of practice. I'm a native Japanese speaker from Nagano in Japan, who is currently living in South Korea. I had moved around a lot in my childhood. 　　This enabled me to acquire not only standard Japanese but also several Japanese dialects. After traveling in Asia and Africa, I realized there are so many languages and cultures in this world. Since then, I have become a language enthusiast. Thus far, I have learned several languages and of course, I cannot gain fluency in all of them. 　　However, this has helped me conduct easy-to-understand and customized classes for students with diverse language backgrounds. I am a professional Korean teacher. Now I live in Jeonju in Korea. I have been teaching on italki since 2017, but I first started in 2011. I was in an exchange program in Tanzania in the university and I helped some children speak Korean at Hangeul school. It was a new experience for me and I had a really good time with them. After that, when I traveled to Southeast Asia, I met some foreigners who were interested in Korean culture especially K-pop and K-dramas. I found out people feel happy to have a conversation in a foreign language with a native speaker. Those experiences made me think teaching Korean might be one of the wonderful things I can do. That’s why I got a certificate.

I have worked at a Korean language entrance examination academy, but I am confident to teach foreigners well.

I've been teaching online since 2015, and although I teach all levels, I'm most experienced with beginners and pre-intermediate level. For me, getting to know you as a student AND as a person are both important. I want to know how you learn and process things so I can match to your needs. I want to know your strengths and weaknesses so I can help you balance them. I want to know what your interests are and what’s going on in your life so you can practice what you actually want to say to other people. And this also helps me to connect to you as a person. I will lead and guide you as a teacher but I will also be a friend that you can talk comfortably with.

I'm Korean teacher since I was 26. i got a baby 2018, i took a rest one and half year to teach here. But I believe I'm almost first or second generation here, although my photo on main page is disappeared, haha.

I'm a caring, devoted and patient teacher. I interact closely with students, make meaningful connections and keep them motivated and engaging. I deliver accurate knowledge with a well-structured curriculum, make the learning process enjoyable and help students achieve their goals.

I am experienced and passionate Korean tutor. I focus on SPEAKING in the class but I also help grammar ,listening, reading and writing as well.

I personally taught Australian students when I lived in Australia for a year. They studied Korean for various reasons such as wanting to travel to Korea, being obssessed with K-Pop, having a Korean boyfriend/girlfriend and so on. So whatever your level is or whatever your interest is I'll be doing my best to make our class fun and valuable.

I have a bachelor's degree in Early childhood education 👶👦👧 and thus have had wonderful experiences of teaching and playing with children as well as youth in my spare time when I was still in South Korea. About teaching Korean, I have happened to teach more than 15 students within 6 months of becoming a tutor in Germany and look forward to meeting more people passionate about learning Korean with me here on Italki! 🤴👸

For fun communication, I’ll ask students what they are interested in, and I will prepare a range of materials such as articles, video clips, photographs and more in my classes for discussion and conversation. Topics could be anything: movies, music, travel, food. I think that even fashion or playing video games could be a proper topic to learn Korean. There’s no good or bad topics to learn Korean. My lessons can help you build your vocabulary, improve your use of written and spoken grammar, and confidently communicate in Korean. We, as language learners need the motivation to keep learning. In my opinion, that kind of motivation mainly comes from having regular conversations with native speakers, especially those who have experienced the same struggles of learning a new language. In that sense, I really want to be a supporter of yours. I also majored art and art Studies, art history, and now I work as an art teacher. If this is a topic that interests you, then I think we have a lot to gain from exchanging our different experiences of Art.

Before I call myself a teacher, I'm a lifelong learner. I struggled with English at school. Years of learning but still was not able to hold a conversation. So what made me change? You can't expect someone to learn a language through random grammar or irrelevant vocabularies. How much do you think it would serve when you actually talk to people? It's about making personal connection. This is what I realised when I nearly got my passport stolen while traveling Egypt. It made me speak, initiate and argue. I cared nothing but the conversation to deal with it. From then, I completely changed the way I learn. I'd like you to have the same attitude, like an angry backpacker!

Since I majored in English education, I can speak English when you don't speak Korean well enough. I have taught many kinds of students in the last 10 years in all areas of Korean from grammar to conversation. I'm friendly and easy to talk to. I usually like to get to know my students first.
