The advantage of a native speaker gives me the challenge in teaching too. I have to read widely and think hard to find easily understood explanations; prepare interesting and useful lessons for my students, who often have little knowledge of the language and culture they have chosen to study. When I was in my junior year of college, I did my volunteering as an English teacher for children in the rural area of Thailand for 2 months, Sisaket province to be specific. After I graduated from college, I used to work as a teaching assistant for native English teachers and myself as well as teaching English for Vietnamese children for 2 years.
