Until 2 years ago I was working as a researcher at Energy Economics Institute. At the time I taught myself Chinese and Spanish. One of my friend asked me if I can teach Korean to English speakers at his cafe. Because it sounded a lot of fun, so I decided to do it as a volunteer job. It turned out, without doubt, full of fun and rewarding to teach them. Once I decided to do it right, I studied Korean. I'm good at explaining stuff easily. That's why I have a strength of teaching Japanese as well. I wouldn't say learning foreign language as 'studying'. So you shouldn't think Korean and Japanese are difficult. Please feel free to jump into the new adventure. I love teaching an absolute beginner.

My major at university was language education and Japanese linguistics, and learned to be a Japanese teacher. When I was a student, I tutored international students, and joined the Japanese teaching training program in Australia and taught Japanese at local school. After graduation, I moved to Singapore and had worked as a Japanese teacher for about 7 years until March 2020. I have taught Japanese from Basic to Advanced, N5 to N1 level there. I only used Japanese when I taught at school, but I taught Japanese in English for on-site training of other Japanese companies in Singapore and private lessons.

I've been teaching Japanese language in Japan (via Skype) and the UK (via both Skype and face-to-face) since 2018. When you talk with me in Japanese, you can learn a lot of words and phrases from our conversation. My main students were 5 years old to senior high school student. Some of my French friends are interested in Japanese, so sometimes I teach them the language. I understand how difficult it is to learn a language, especially Japanese. I think that students must have conversation lessons as often as possible. So we can talk in Japanese about a topic which interests you, for example culture, music, art, or sports.

I've been on here for a few years now & I also teach outside of iTalki as well. Hence, I've learnt a lot of grammatical rules that explain what I had previously been doing instinctively and I would say I know how to explain 90% of the stuff that goes on and if not, I could probably explain it using the way we learnt Japanese grammar in Japan, in Japanese (it's a little different).
