I am a qualified English teacher but I have now specialised in teaching Italian as a second language and after two years working in two different private schools (teaching English and Spanish) I have started teaching Italian in an Italian institute in Istanbul. My current job involves not only teaching general Italian but also preparing students who want to take one of the Italian official certifications such as CILS, CELI etc.

I have been teaching Italian during an EVS (European Voluntary Service) in Bulgaria for 6 months, for the local people, and I have been also teaching English in Denmark for 7 month during my Teaching Practice in a school for kids with special needs, as part of my pedagogy education. During this period, I had many pedagogical possibilities to witness the importance of preparing a good lesson and always having a back-up plan. Moreover, I also understood how relevant it is to create a good connection with the students and get to know them better in order to make them feel part of the learning process and being in the driving seat of their education.

Ho studiato per 5 anni latino e greco al liceo, dove la grammatica era al centro dell'attenzione, con l'esperienza ho però capito che per iniziare ad apprendere una nuova lingua (cosa che ho sperimentato con l'inglese e lo spagnolo) è importante avere un ruolo attivo nell'apprendimento. In fondo, Leggere libri e siti in italiano non è poi così complicato, Scrivere email e documenti di lavoro già presuppone una maggiore conoscenza della lingua, ma Parlare italiano… beh, è tutta un’altra storia e richiede un approccio ad hoc. Il Listening (l’ascolto della lingua) non basta: se vuoi davvero imparare a parlare in italiano devi fare pratica.

It was a great experience that made me meet so many people interested in going beyond the common language lessons. Through the programs Italiano+Arte and Italiano+Storia you can learn Italian and at the same time follow a discovery journey into italian history and/or art history. Working with images, maps and videos, we can explore Italy’s fascinating events and cultural heritage while mastering the italian language.

I love my country, and I would like to teach my language to everyone who wants to talk about Italian culture, foreign countries, politics, music, tv, food. We will work on customising lessons, based on your level and goals. I care about my students and about forming a human relationship that can make our lessons both useful and enjoyable.

I love teaching: since I was a child I've always wanted to become a teacher. I have been teaching italian for more than two years online and in presence both individually and to groups of students. I attended a language teaching course at the Ca' Foscari University. I’m currently helping young people (from 10 to 15 years old) with English and Italian.

My first experience with language-teaching and exchange (a good and useful experience) was represented by tandem language learning (when I lived in Brighton). My lessons are structured according to language proficiency levels set by the European framework. But, beyond that, methodology, approach and the relationship between teacher and student are all that matters. Language isn't just grammar. Language is a communicative act and grammar plays a fundamental role in order to learn a language. It can't be, however, the only way to "achieve the objective". I think you can learn languages if you don't get bored, if you feel enthusiasm, if you have passion for what you are learning.

How I would describe myself as a teacher? I would answer: friendly, precise, creative and keen. Attentive to students and versatile, according to their needs and goals. Eager to learn students’ sparkling eyes are my real engine! I always make every effort to pass on to them my knowledge and my fondness for languages and cultures in a friendly and inspirational atmosphere. I enjoy teaching and also learning from my students. I like to learn about new cultures (history, languages, etc.) and also to share my own. I'm always open to meet new people and sharing with them experiences and knowledge.

I've been working as a language teacher since 2014. I've been teaching to students of almost all ages and educational degrees, from secondary school to university, and in language schools both in Italy and Spain. I adopt a communicative approach, without dismissing the importance of focusing on specific aspects of the language when needed. I love to transmit not only the language, but also the cultures of Italy and Spain. For this reason I love to use movies, musics and so on during the classes, and I hope that our lessons will give you a taste of these countries.
