I am a very inquiring person and teaching a language to foreign people is a great opportunity to impart Greek language, culture, and history and also to discover new cultures and different habits. I like traveling, theater, and communicate with people. Languages, under any perspective, are my main passion, and greek is the common theme of my academic studies, my working experiences, and many of my hobbies. During the last 13 years, I have been teaching Greek at schools and online and it is a privilege to see my students improving their skills with time

I have studied Greek Language and Literature in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since i was a kid, i knew i would become a teacher. I love sharing my knowledge with other people than just making academic research for years. I started working as a Greek Language Teacher for a company based in Athens that had hundreds of international employees from all over the world and my duty was to teach them Greek fast and efficiently. I had students of all the levels (A1-C2) and various groups and the lessons were online in order to save time for the students. Since then, i have taught the Greek Language to hundreds of students.

I want to help you improve you Greek step by step. I want you to know something well, and then learn something new. There are N0 silly questions! Feel comfortable to ask me anything that puzzles you (grammar, vocabulary etc.) If you have time after class, I would be really happy provide you with extra material.

I got my Bachelor's Degree in Greek Philology, School of Philosophy, at University of Athens in 2006. Since then, I've been successfully teaching Modern Greek to Greek pupils of all levels. I started teaching Greek Language and History to adult foreigners in 2013 and I must say it has been a very interesting experience so far. It has always been a pleasure for me to communicate with different people from all over the world. I would also like to mention that I have participated in several seminars on Special Education, which have helped me improve myself and my teaching methods.

I am a qualified teacher. I have obtained a bachelor in History & Archaeology and a master in Archaeology of Greece, Egypt and Near East. During my studies, I accomplished an internship in schools. As an undergraduate student, I visited some schools, attended many classes and gained experience with teaching. During my master, I learnt HIEROGLYPHICS, I made also a short dictionary of hieroglyphics in my thesis. I am also qualified for teaching in Secondary Educatio by GTCS (General Teaching Council for Scotland): (Greek, Latin), Classical Studies (literature, history, philosophy, art and archaeology), Modern Studies, Social and Civic Education and Religious Education

My approach to teaching is student oriented. I would first asses the level and likes/dislikes of the prospective student and come up with relevant material.

My approach when learning languages is that it needs to be interesting and fun in order to achieve great results. I always like to create a friendly atmosphere in which we can both feel comfortable. Also, practice makes perfect, and we are in this together!

I can do all the things you expect a teacher to do, but I see myself as a mirror: your improvement and progress is entirely up to ~ you ~ how enthusiastic you are about the language you study ~ and your motivations. In our conversations, the environment is always a welcome one. Make mistakes. Take your time, express yourself freely. After all, most of the interaction with a tutor is never about the subject you learn, but about the connection you have and how comfortable you feel. Make decisions as to how you want the lessons to go; a teacher is a resource, so use it to your advantage.

My teaching experience is based on teaching both adults and children Modern Greek and my engagement with the field of psychology have made more capable of understanding people's needs and more patient. I love working with people and the fact that I am teaching them a beautiful language makes me happier and more eager to work!

Teaching has never been on my list of jobs to do. I would find it exhausting and tedious, especially when kids were involved. Never have I been so wrong! In fact, teaching has projected the best in me. I' m currently a student of NTUA in which I' ve learnt how to tackle every obstacle and challenge that I was assigned to. When I started learning greek to foreign students it was also a challenge but I succeeded by preparing every single lesson according to every student's needs. Today, I work as a part-time teacher, tutoring both children and adults.

As a teacher with 20 years professional experience I continuously strive to build rapport with my students, creating a trusting atmosphere and paying constant attention to individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I offer a tailored learning experience in which the lesson is a dynamic and interactive process. I am very proud of my students and I adore my job. It always makes me very happy to see them making progress, constantly advancing in their understanding of the language.

I do not have much experience in teaching, and this is why I would prefer teaching begginer and intermediate students, at least for the first couple of months, until i am accustomed to it. I am really talkative, thus conversation in the languages i teach would be the best thing I could offer to my students, but i am not really limited to that. I like getting to know my students in order for me being able to adapt to their needs and make classes with them even more productive. Their needs will form and alter the way i teach. Being quite easy-going, i would get along really well with most people.

Speaking is the most important part while you learn a language. So i suggest to speak Greek as much as you can. No matter if you do mistakes! we learn from them! I keep our conversations very natural 'cause i want to make the student feel confortable speaking Greek. We can talk about anything you want! But of course except speaking part we work also on the grammar, reading, pronunciation & writing. Step by step you will become fluent in Greek! Trust me!

In the last few years I had the chance to to teach the Greek language to non Greeks or to those of a Greek decent. As a result of trying to learn German, I know very well how hard it can be learning a new language. Therefore I am patient and I speak slowly for my students to understand me. I am able to teach in English or in German.

I have been teaching to high school students at a private school in Greece for 3 years and I'm currently teaching Greek online. I'm also certified in teaching English as a foreign language. I have been living abroad for the last 10 years so I know how challenging the process of a new language can be.
