I really like teaching, I've been doing it for 16 years. I'm fluent in Spanish and German as a mother language. I focus a lot on grammar and writing, but I also offer conversation classes. I guarantee you some didactic classes, in which you will learn a lot. I can improve your writing skills in Spanish. Together we can do perfect essays or what you need. If you have a job interview in Spanish or German, I can also help you practising in the language you need. I have a degree in Human Resources, so I know the skills you need for an interview. I began teaching Italian and German in 2019 and is now my job. In March I did the CEDILS exam to be a certified teacher of Italian. My goal-oriented lessons focus on the goals of the students and on developing simultaneously the 4 skills of language learning: Listening , Speaking , Reading , and Writing. My students generally love that they can learn grammar, vocabulary and phrases in a relaxed and friendly setting.

I have been teaching many students for three years, so I have already some experience in teaching. I am a very patient teacher. It is no problem for me to repeat things, which my student did not understand. I have tutored for two years at the College of Charleston in German, French and Portuguese, as well as taught the beginning conversation courses for Portuguese students. During these positions, I worked a lot with textbooks and lesson plans, but I normally will adapt the students wants and needs to make sure they feel at ease and comfortable in order to learn the best they possibly can. As stated, my current work is with professionals, but I have experience with various profiles and am trained to work with students of various cultural backgrounds, learning styles, and ages. In addition, I can proficiently explain grammar in Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Dutch apart from my C2 languages.

My native language is German, I am also fluent in English. At the moment I´m learning Sinhala and I know what it means to learn a new language and how hard it can be sometimes - additional to your lesson. So don't be afraid, I am a very fun, friendly and patient community tutor :)!

I try to make my lessons fun and enjoyable. In our first lesson we will get to know each other and decide together how we want to design our lessons. We will make various exercises which will be based on your level and your skills. The lessons should match your expectations and if you like to change something or to practice some skills more specifically, we will do so. I also like to give homework, if that is fine by you.

As a teacher I aim to create a safe space for you, where you can be yourself and freely express your needs. The more you share your expectations with me, the more I'll be able to adapt myself and my teaching style to you. Seit Jahren bin ich als Lehrkraft im Bereich Kunst aktiv und leite eine Private Kunstakademie. Ich gebe seit meinem Studienabschluss (Meisterschülerin) als Malerin entsprechenden Unterricht und war auch Dozentin an einer Kunsthochschule in Norddeutschland. My experience in teaching comes through my work in the field of art. I'm running a private Art Academy. Since finishing my university degree in the art of painting I'm giving classes in that field. I became a teacher on italki to teach a rare and quite complicated language to all the people around the world who are interested in it and to those who have just fun to learn new things. I am a really relaxed person, pretty communicative and motivated so that I think a lesson with me is more fun than work and that's how I think it should be. For both sides. Teacher and student! A lot of fun with interesting conversations because I think you learn way faster if you do it with fun. I learned a foreign language and I know how hard it can be to step out of the comfort zone to start a conversation but you don't need to worry. I will lead you through the lesson in an comfortable way ;)

As a teacher I am a huge disciple of learning while speaking and love to give examples of context and situation. A structural approach to learning a new language is key. Grammar and vocabularies are mandatory while often more easily learned by heart through stories and repeated use. It is most important to have a good time and to have fun while learning, as well as keeping my teaching goal oriented towards your needs. I will have to get to know your goals so that we can figure out an individual learning plan for you while I guide you through the different levels of competence.

I see myself as a practical learner therefore my preferred approach is to learn by practice! In schools and language courses, languages often get analyzed rather than practiced which is why so many people make no progress after "studying a language" for months. Learning a language is like painting in the sense that you don't need to know the atomic structure of colors to be able to paint a nice picture. In this same way you don't need to know all the rules and technical terms to successfully use a language. In my lessons you will actively practice speaking German without worrying to much about the mistakes which will ultimately make it more fun and enjoyable for you.

Language lessons can be fun, but language-learning is certainly time-consuming and occasionally frustrating. I am therefore aiming at establishing collaborative relationships with my clients to keep them inspired and motivated throughout the journey. Meine Arbeit im Kinderarbenteuerhof und im Waldkindergarten in Freiburg hat mir besonders Spaß gemacht und dort habe ich Erfahrungen beim Begleiten von Kindern und Jugendlichen in Lernprozessen sammeln können. In meiner Tätigkeit als Tagesmutter habe ich die Lernbegleitung von 7 heranwachsenden Jugendlichen durch tägliche Hausaufgabenbetreuung übernommen. Derzeit unterrichte ich Deutsch,Mathematik und Musik für Freilehrner-Kinder in Costa Rica.
