I have a great love for languages in general and have always been fascinated with how they work. I enjoy mapping one language onto another. I try to evoke this same interest in my students, and help them see both the similarities and the differences between their native language and the language they are learning.

I had the chance to have great language teachers at school and I naturally decided to become one and travel the world to teach French. Learning and speaking other languages (I recently took the C2-level Spanish DELE and I'm learning Portuguese) allows me to put myself in my students' shoes and have a better understanding about their difficulties.

I began teaching in 2004 at a Waldorf school in southern England. I taught a variety of humanities, including German, English, and French. I have also worked in translations for many years, which has helped me to learn the subtleties of expression in the languages I use. I believe in learning naturally, without studying rules and structure (none of us do this with our first language, after all!).
